Top Bar menu: add space between elements

Hi, I am using Pinnacle Premium with Child theme.
On the topbar, each element of the menu I created is aligned horizontally. Great. Now, I would like to increase the space between these individual menu elements.
I tried with #topbar ul {padding-right: 50px;} but this simply push the whole menu to the left. It is the space between each menu elements I would like to increase to spread them a little bit more appart. For now, I manage by putting a few after the name of each element. Not the optimal solution. Do you have any other suggestion?
