grid/list toggle appears but doesn't function on shop

I have the grid/list toggle enabled on shop. It appears on shop, categories, and products. However, it does not function on shop or category pages — it is only working on product pages:

I’m wondering it this might be a conflict with any the custom code I have in Advanced Settings (as per your suggestions):

.product_header, .pricebox, div.product .product_meta {
border: 0;
}
div.product .product_meta {
display: none;
}
.woocommerce-ordering {
display: none;
}

… or if I’m missing a setting somewhere. I’ve tried to cover everything from top to bottom, and this persists. Thanks in advance for your time!
