How do I change background color of widget areas?

I have a few issues with my virtue premium theme as following wish you would help me with it:

1) i am trying to change background color of widget areas, actually i have four different widgets in the footer and would like to give different background colour to every widget.
i am working on the following project

2) i am also trying to give different background colors to every box in the Primary menu
