Displaying featured variable product options on homepage

Hi
I display 2 of my products each weekday on our homepage (wellfedfood.com) using your featured products shortcode & it works great. However we are changing our products to be customisable (e.g. ‘with steak’, ‘with chicken’). Variable products look great when you are on the product page but on our homepage the variations don’t show (it only shows a “Select Options” button on hover over). How can I display featured variable products on the homepage such that the customer can click onto different variations straight from the homepage?
