Permalinks changes

Hey,
I wonder whether changing the permalinks of products will change the permalinks for the new products (introduced after the change) AND the old ones (introduced before the change) or only the new ones ? I mean changing for example mermalinks from /keywords-1/%product_cat% to /keywords-2/%product_cat%
If only the new ones are changed is there a mean to change the old permalinks for instance using the “change” button at the top of a product ? Or is it necessary to use a redirection plugin ? Is there a risk for the data base to be broken ?
Does the same apply also to posts ?
