I’ve read up and down about creating child themes, I get the benefit and I understand how to create a child theme for a fresh theme.
I’ve been using Virtue a long while, and I’ve made all my customization changes within my parent. I’d like to create a child theme, and retain my changes.
I haven’t done much in terms of php.ini or any fancy things like that, luckily the theme is so powerful I’ve been able to fix most customization issues using the custom .css section.
So here’s how it plays in my head, to avoid breaking things.
1. Copy current parent, adding -child, because how it is right now is perfect.
2. Make another theme active, temporarily.
3. This is where I get confused, if I delete my existing parent to re-establish a “fresh” parent… will this break everything when I make my child active?
How can I do this, if my current understanding is incorrect?
Also, will Revolution slider still work when using Virtue Premium as a child theme?
