Limiting number of product choices

I’m using WooCommerce (which I hate with a passion) on the Virtue Premium theme. The Global Add Ons plugin is also installed. One of the product pages has an insane amount of flavor options to choose from, however, I need to limit the customer’s final choice(s) of flavors to a maximum number of 4 — with a notice showing up once they’ve selected their 4th flavor. I know having hundreds of flavor choices makes for a very, VERY long laundry list to scroll through just to pick 4 flavors, but this is what was requested.
I know limiting the number of selections to 4 can be done; Can someone please explain to me HOW to set that up?
