Incorrect display of portfolio images

Hi,

We’re in the process of setting up a portfolio page however we’ve run into a problem.

On the portfolio page the images in the grid are sometimes showing correctly and others not. To add to this once you click on a portfolio item the image displayed there often has the top or sides cut off.

Am I using an incorrect image size or is this being done by something else?
One of the images is 1000px x 945px, the other 1000px x 659px. The first shows ok in the grid on the main portfolio page but the top is cut off on the page specific to the portfolio item. The second cuts off one side on the main portfolio page but shows ok on the page specific to the portfolio item. Strange and confusing..
