Post excerpt read more to expand instead of going to the actual post page?

Hi
I’ve been trying to make a way around where the read more tag on a post excerpt can expand, at the moment the read more tag is a link to an actual post. I was thinking of saving time but to show it as an expand like an accordion style. Is there any way to do this?
