Customize Home Slider Area

Hi!
I am dabbling with the home slider area, and would like to know how to make these adjustments:
1. How can I stop the Image Carousel from scrolling? Turning off Autoplay doesn’t seem to work.
2. How can I change the background of the slider area to be black? I found out how to change the content area to be completely black, but I just want the area behind the slider to be black to match my header…. wp.smartmusicteacher.com
3. When using the Image Carousel, am I always going to get a blank space between the last and first images? How can I get rid of that?
