ampersand code converting to #038

Hi,
Is there a way to correct the theme from converting the & into & code? It’s causing some issues with my website.
For example what is happening is when I enter the image url: *Login to see link into the “External Image URL plugin” it’s getting changed to:
Basically, the tag: #038 is being added. So what happens when you click on the image to view it in a larger format – it goes to a blank lightbox page that only shows: loading. You can see it happening on this page: *Login to see link
