How Can I just show a few lines of text on a portfolio grid

Hi guys,
Please find attached a link to a screenshot Pic to screenshot
As you can see its a portfolio grid for a site im doing for a friend. but how can I just show a few lines of text on the portfolio grid so it does not show the full text? So when a user clicks on each team member they will then see the full portfolio when they click on each individual portfolio page?
