Gallery image order won't save

Hi, I’m creating numerous galleries of images on a page but every time I arrange the images in the gallery, in the order they need to be in, and update the gallery and save the page, it still just reverts back to how it was originally. Is there a code I can put in that will make galleries respect my chosen image order?
