Can't make the CSS take in the Theme Options

HI GUys
I’ve tried this like a dozen times, putting the css in the theme options advanced settings.
I know it might not take immediately, but I must be doing something wrong. It never seems to take.
I then default to using Jetpack CSS which always takes.
It’s just probably not a good idea to use Jetpack css.
