    1. I’m not sure what you mean. The widgets are being added to the layout builder in footer column 1. When using this footer layout, footer column one goes across the top of all the other footer columns. Does that make sense?

    2. Here is some CSS that will allow you to set the text for only that h3:

    .footercol1 h3.widget-title {
        color: white;
        text-align: center;
    }

    Place custom CSS into Theme Options> Custom CSS, and let me know if it works for you.

    4. Hmm in that case you can add this css:

    .single-article article.kt_post_header_content-.post header {
        margin-top:0;
    }

    7. I think you are just confusing shortcodes.

    You want a blog grid so you need to use a the blog grid shortcode:

    [blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=2]

    7b.

    And changing a post format to full width and setting the header to image I am expecting a post to look like
    http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-bold/stumbling-upon-falls/
    with the text and box recessing into the photo

    But it does not
    https://site2602763.nestifysites.com/great-reasons-visit-plovdiv-bulgaria/

    Your image it not large enough. Thus it’s not wide enough to expand around the header other wise you would see the page looking like the demo. You simply need to upload a larger image.

    You should always be uploading images around 1600px or larger. And for a large header like that I suggest 2400 since you will want to support retina screens.

    8. The page width is not the same as virtue premium This child theme overrides styles. Like the page width style, it’s controlled by percentage instead of breaking points.

    If you are on a larger screen for example your post grid would be 4 columns.

    If you want to force it to be 4 columns on smaller screens you can with css like this:

    @media (min-width: 992px){
        .imagegrid-widget > a {
            float: left;
            width: 25%;
        }
    }

    If you want the social media to be forced into one line on smaller screens you can use this css:

    @media (min-width: 992px) and (max-width: 1200px) {
    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget a {
        padding: 6px;
    }
    }

    1, 2, 3, 5, 6 resolved

    for 4
    The site default in none and on the post is says – site default- this leaves the post over the logo. When I change it to none- it does display correctly.

    This cause several issues- I would have to go through over 350+ posts to change this to none rather site default and 2) for post type “recipes” – (using a plugin- which inserts the recipe format) the stand post option box does not appear on the individual post- I assume it is just reading the theme options. Any reason this doesn’t read the theme settings like it does in Virtue Premium?

    7. Okay- but then site does not appear like your demo
    somehow I am expecting the home page “blog grid to appear like the blog grid here
    http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-bold/blog-grid-example/
    or the way they appear on the archive page i.e. https://site2602763.nestifysites.com/destination/bhutan/

    instead they appear totally different i.e. nothing like the format anywhere else in the theme – in fact it looks like the formatting on my current archive pages in the Virtue Premium theme.

    and if you look at the current home page on the staging site with BOLD-

    the first 4 posts are from the theme defaults on the home page i.e. display blog posts- this is what I would expect to look similar to the examples above, (I can’t figure out how you get anything to appear to look like your blog grid example.) This is a page with blog grid selected as the template:
    https://site2602763.nestifysites.com/blog-grid-testing/

    and the 5 post appearing at the bottom – I don’t understand- the shortcode reads [blog_posts items=”4″ orderby=”date”] and the first blog post is 2 years old- so I can’t understand why it is appearing here?? and the inclusion of it means 5 are appearing??

    And changing a post format to full width and setting the header to image I am expecting a post to look like
    http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-bold/stumbling-upon-falls/
    with the text and box recessing into the photo

    But it does not
    https://site2602763.nestifysites.com/great-reasons-visit-plovdiv-bulgaria/

    New issue
    8. Is the page width narrower- I notice my social share bar now wraps over two line and the recent post grid in column 3 in the footer in only 3 columns wide not 4? Is there a way to adjust this to make it the same width it was in virtue premium?

    Thanks for your assistance.

    1. If you want the content to be centered inside each column then add this css:

    #containerfooter form.form-search {
    margin: 0 auto;
    }

    If you want the content to be left aligned inside each column then add this css:

    #containerfooter, #containerfooter h3 {
        text-align: left;
    }
    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget a {
        display: block;
        float: left;
        margin-right: 3px;
        margin-left: 0;
    }

    2. In your theme options > home layout, it doesn’t look as if you have enabled the page content?

    If you would like to send a login I would be happy to confirm this.

    3. For the bold child theme the css is:

    .kt_bold_meta {
        display: none;
    }

    4. If you are not going to add a header image then in your post you must set the header content to none. Make sure it’s not left blank or unselected. Needs to be set to none.

    5. The Bold child theme hides the excerpt by default if you would like to show it add this css:

    .home_blog article .entry-content {
        display: block;
    }

    6. In the demo those sections are created using pagebuilder and the virtue split content widget.

    7. Bold is a difference in styles not in theme options or features. For example, there are no different shortcodes in bold just the output of those shortcodes looks different. It’s not an issue of settings but style.

    There are no different widgets or widget settings just a difference in the styled output.

    Documentation is about settings so there isn’t a separate documentation.

    1. You can use this css:

    #topbar-search input[type=text] {
        background: green;
    }

    2. I’m not sure what you mean. You want the text to align center in the three columns?

    Like this:

    footer#containerfooter {
        text-align: center;
    }
    #containerfooter .virtue_social_widget a {
        float: none;
        display: inline-block;
    }
    #168497

    I need to to do following:
    1) Center the Search box (Header) on smaller devices – I tried several things…
    2) Make the search box a bit wider
    3) Put some white space between the News and Audiences sections (See image)
    4) Make the Width of the footer smaller, so the columns are closer together (See Image)

    Thanks a bunch,
    Olympia

    Hey,
    You are getting an error that is breaking javascript on your site. The error is caused by the text widget in your footer second column.

    You’ve added this:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="//downloads.mailchimp.com/js/signup-forms/popup/embed.js" data-dojo-config="usePlainJson: true, isDebug: false"></script><script type="text/javascript">require(["mojo/signup-forms/Loader"], function(L) { L.start({"baseUrl":"mc.us12.list-manage.com","uuid":"a1841ac36ecbf5e6cf2378c62","lid":"920060b756"}) })</script>

    And that loads a script that is incorrect. You need to get a better embed script.

    Hi, I’ve enabled sitewide footer call to action in Theme Options > Footer. I’m using the footer layout with one full-width panel on the top row, and three panels beneath it in the second row. The three panels are already full up with stuff (buttons created using SiteOrigin Button widget). Therefore I’d like to include a “BOOK NOW” button in the full-width panel, using the same style of button, created with SiteOrigin widget. However, when I try to do this, and insert the button into Footer Column 1, it appears in Footer Column 3 with the other buttons. The only way I can get a button into the correct area is to create it using the sitewide footer option, but then the button is in a different style and it sits over to the right of the screen rather than being centered.

    I’d appreciate any suggestions for getting a SiteOrigin Button into the full-width area of this 4-area footer.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

    From a previous support thread (#155623) I got this script from Ben:

    “The solution (although I would still suggest you add the anchor to the top of the row, not below the column title, you can add an ID in the row settings which would work nicely) is to add javascript to change the way the browser links to an anchor so that you can add a 188px offset for the links.

    <script type=”text/javascript”>jQuery(window).load(function () {jQuery(‘body’).localScroll({offset: -188});jQuery.localScroll.hash({offset: -188});});</script>

    There is your javascript you can add in the footer scripts of your theme options.”

    I tried that myself and it heads to the the correct spot and then at the last second jumps back up under the header. Is there a different tweak?

    The site is dev.43designs.com

    Thank you,

    Luke

    There are some different options with css. The best is if you can post a link to your site. Then it’s easy for us to provide you with the best otpion.

    Here is an example but if your footer columns are all not the same height it can look odd:

    .footercol1:after, .footercol2:after {
        height:80%;
        top:20%;
        right:0;
        width:1px;
        background:black;
        content:'';
        display:block;
        position:absolute;
    }

    When you go into the settings for your home page content, what do you have set for “Page Title background behind Header?”

    You should be able to remove the widgets from your footer columns by going to Appearance> Widgets and removing them from footer column 1, 2, 3, and 4.

    If you’re still having issues, you can post a login in a private reply and I’ll be happy to take a look at your settings.

    Hi
    My menu in the footer is offset to the right. I do not see any options to line things up. I have tried many combinations of the columns for the footer. In fact I can’t seem to find anywhere to control lining up or padding images placed in the footer via widgets or even lining up the Copywrite placement.

    Any direction would be appreciated. Thank you!

    My site is aquatarium.ca but you would need to change your host file to 108.167.165.165 for that domain to hit the new site I am trying to build with your theme.

    thanks

    Hi

    I have a footer with two columns – I have used the Virtue: Infobox widget.

    1) The widget content seems to be aligned to the left in the footer column. How can I get the content centered?

    2) I one of the columns my text: Text1, Text2 and Text3 is in the same line: How can I get this in 3 separate lines?

    Hi

    I’ve setup the content on my pages to have blank columns left and right of the text on the page
    (10% – 80% – 10%)

    I’d like the header and footer content to match up with these dimensions.

    Would this be possible with additional CSS?

    Pls advise

    #157561

    Hi Costa,
    You can create a single column in the footer by using css. Just set the number of columns to 2 from theme options > footer and add your widget to the first columns from Appearance > Widgets. Then add this to your custom css box:

    .col-md-6.col-sm-6.footercol1 {
        width: 100%;
    }

    Hope that helps!

    Hi

    I have a client who’s asking for a full width colour bar at the bottom of the page with a scrolling text message in it.
    I’ve got the text scroll working, however:

    I would like to add it as a widget to the footer, so it stays fixed at the bottom of the page.
    Is it possible to have a single column (1 column) footer?

    Pls advise

    Hi Hannah,

    Take a look at the homepage for http://www.eclipseaudio.com.au. Start with the browser, on PC or Mac, fairly wide and you’ll see 4 columns containing logos. Now slowly make the browser narrower. At some point the 4 cells in the columns will stack into 4 column (ready for presentation on mobile). I’m asking for the change to occur in two steps. When browser gets a little narrower, stack into 2 over 2, then when narrower still, stack into a single column (ready for mobile).

    As an example, take a look at the footer on https://www.alibre.com/interoperability/. It’s starts 4 columns wide, then jumps to 2, then jumps to 1, as the browser window is narrower.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    You are using a sticky header that is 188px tall (a lot of space for a sticky header)

    An anchor link links to the top of the screen so your issue is that you have added your anchor below the title “We Analyze And Uncover” which means the top of the screen would be past that title. Since your header is 188px it means that your readable area is all covered by the header.

    The solution (although I would still suggest you add the anchor to the top of the row, not below the column title, you can add an ID in the row settings which would work nicely) is to add javascript to change the way the browser links to an anchor so that you can add a 188px offset for the links.

    <script type="text/javascript">jQuery(window).load(function () {jQuery('body').localScroll({offset: -188});jQuery.localScroll.hash({offset: -188});});</script>

    There is your javascript you can add in the footer scripts of your theme options.
