    Topic: Woo category pages are gone

    Something strange happened today. We had problem with the site and the pages went blank. I then deactivated the plugins via FTP. I managed to get the site back up and I started to activate the plugins one by one. I activated Woocommerce, but the category pages just wouldn’t show up. I have checked in the menus and the URL seems to be ok. The product pages in Woo are working just fine. Any idea what might have happened and do you have a “cure”?

    (The category pages are the ones in the lower menu, e.g. “Display & expo”)

    Hi,

    I have looked at the tutorial video that successfully does what I am trying to do with a revolution slider and an example layout setting, and also someone needed to do this with a cyclone slider and you gave them some css code that added padding. Well, I tried doing the similar code and hoping the cadence slider for the class was the same convention and maybe I could get lucky but, no … so I am here waving the white flag.

    Can you tell me how I can have my kadence slider photo to start below the header not behind:

    Also, I have really tried to get a grip on what file size to make this photo display in its entirely, but not take up a screen and a half on the computer. Is this purely dependent on file size? Or is there some sort of ratio or compression being taken into effect? Perhaps if I cropped some of the field in the photo? I’m trying to get it to be a little less than the whole page …

    You guys are great, and I wish I had all your talent and did not have to come asking these silly questions!

    Hi, how to format the text for buttons (large-medium-small) coz I want to make them bold using capital letters.
    Also how to change the text, make it bold and capital letters, for the button on Contact page which says “Send Email”.

    Thanks Hanna for the quick reply.

    1. This looks good.. however the only thing missing for me.. symmetric/standard grid size.While using the blog posts, instead of page content, the images were cropped to a common size, hence the display was symmetric.
    In the current setting, the layout is not symmetric due to different image sizes.
    Is it possible to achieve similar results like the blog post thing but with 3 columns ?

    Hello everyone

    In demo content home page, there is a call to action widget (Responsive Design. Powerful Options.etc..)with a nice background image ( cup, mouse, etc.)that stays fixed while you scroll down. I can’t work out where to insert that image background.

    Dear Virtuers

    I have a question and that is; on my home page I have the revolution slider on top of the page, like it very much but now i want to put in a portfolio underneath it and a parallax scrolling picture. But when I use (in page attributes) portfolio grid, then nothing happens, even so with the parallax scrolling, it doesn’t cover the whole page, so what am I doing wrong here.

    I deleted all cache in my settings. Still am seeing the white space above my content on all pages (besides home page).

    1. Lets say Im on page one in the shop. When I click switch to page 2, but the content is the same as on page 1. When I update the page, there’ll appear new content. It is like it’s not loading when you turn page. It is not just from 1 to 2 but also from 2 to 3 and 2 to 1. Hope that gave you an idea.     I have not seen the option in the Theme options.

    Hello,

    I would like to not display the Portfolio types. However, in the shortcode, there is no showtypes=true.

    Hello,

    I noticed that retina-screen quality featured images (portfolio grid) on my homepage monika.vaicenaviciene.com are not showing in Firefox even though they are showing in Safari. Strangely enough, if I refresh the homepage in Firefox, the images are shown.

    Could you please look into why the portfolio images are not showing in Firefox on retina screens?

    I use the WP Retina 2x plugin to obtain retina quality images.

    Hey Gaurav,
    1. I would actually suggest setting your homepage as your latest post page (Settings > Reading). Then in Theme Options > Home Layout ensure that you have Page Content enabled in the Homepage Layout Manager. Then if you scroll down to Page Content Options (if home page is latest post page) you can turn on Use Post Grid Format and set the number of columns to 3.

    2. Have you already created a page for all your posts (using the blog template)? If so, you can link to that page from your primary menu (Appearance > Menus). Does that work for you?

    3. You just want one column centered? If so, select the two column Footer Widget Layout from Theme Options > Footer. Then add your content to the column 1 from Appearance > Widgets. Then add this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    Hi Hannah,
    i m so sorry to bother you again and again . to tell you the truth i m also trying so many codes by my self but nothing seems to be working. actually it didin’t work properly cause the code only moves the product image to the left,for your convenience i have kept the format i am expecting at the top of the services page( the product with the excerpt on the right side of the image) but the code used as [recent_products per_page=”1″ columns=”1″] which only shows the recent product only not the specific product that i am expecting ( suppose i am expecting to show product id 3047) so at the bottom you can see the product i want to show (with the id 3047) but there is no excerpts on the left ( the code i used only [product id=”3047″ ]). the above code you sent me only moves the image to the left and make the title to the right( no excerpts). what i m only expecting the product to show as the code [recent_products per_page=”1″ columns=”1″] but only to show the product i need with the excerpt on the right. thank you so much for your help so far, i m expecting your favorable response.

    Hey Ben, thanks!

    Yeah, the Theme Options / Home Page Layout problem seemed to disappear. (I thought you had done that!) OptionTree is a plug in I thought I needed but can probably ditch now. I will work with BlueHost to get the optimal max memory & execution time. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Of course I want it to upload without a hitch.

    About that last issue. I guess I’m trying to understand the relationship between my Pinnacle theme and WP in terms of which one overrides the other when it comes to style, specifically typography. I seem to remember clicking a button somewhere in Theme Options that gave Pinnacle the upper hand, but I’m not sure where that is. And, does that still apply to Typography? I was having some problems getting into my Customize section in WP and making any changes there. Might it be because I have the button clicked on in Theme Options? Perhaps something is going on related to the max memory/execution time. I’ll tackle that one tomorrow. Thanks for any insight.

    When I try to edit the plugin it does not respond and the following message is displayed at the bottom of the page… My Hosts (GoDaddy) have increased the my site’s memory to 512, but its not showing so. I better give them a call.

    Hey,
    There isn’t a built in option for this using the contact template. One option would be to use the feature template and add your contact form to the page using contact form 7 ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/contact-form-7/ ).
    Or you could use the contact page template and not use the contact forms map, but use the virtue shortcode map. But in order for the layout to look right you would need some css. Let me know if you want to go this route and I can help with that.

    Hello,

    As I explore virtue theme, I am trying to address the below requirements at my site

    The site is secondrecipe.com

    1.I am looking to have 3 columns instead of 2 columns on the home page layout(excluding the sidebar).
    (I tried using the pagebuilder, but I think it will require more expertise to do that.)

    2. What is the best way to give a link on the main page which can list all the posts, instead of the user going to each category or archives ?

    3.I am trying to look for an option where the footer is not broken in 2/3/4 columns but only 1 column.The footer layout option does not give that.

    4. Do you have any comprehensive list of virtue short codes ?

    Hey Gary,
    Sorry, I’m not sure I’m following. Are you adding the dropdown menu through product attributes or are you adding a non-woocommerce dropdown menu? You should be adding your sizes as attributes which you would do product by product.
    When I try to open your link I am getting a warning page?
