Hello, I have been unsuccessful at locating the settings to control the gap that is appearing at the top of the page just behind the transparent header as well as above the footer on this website:

It works great on desktop but once the pages are sized down a bit, the gap appears at the top of the pages. I managed to shrink the gap behind the header by disabling vertical padding on the Home page (the only page I’ve tried this on so far), but both gaps still remain and they are unsightly. Can you advise what I need to adjust to fix this issue? Thank you!

Hi Hannah,

Thanks for your reply I know how busy you guys are now. A few more things.

1, 2 & 3 – The post grid / carousel block isn’t customising well for me in getting it to look like the home designs page. That is fine I will change the links in the url to be the search links but that just brings me one tiny problem which hopefully you can guide me with. At the moment if you click on Category it takes you to the category with the archive list, but I would like to change it to go to the search url – for eg http://mysite/home-designs/?_sft_category=acreage. To bring in the category I am using this in my search archive template php echo the_category(‘ ‘); . Do you know the code I may be able to use for this to work?

4, 5, & 6 – Thats ok I fixed it myself. But I think it would be a great option if we could have the display as row / column like is shown in the footer in the header. I don’t have an example to show you just a way I like to customise my header sometimes with the logo taking up the whole height of the row and two lines opposite.

New problems – Mega Menu Bugs?

7. I’m getting a 500 internal server error when go in to customizer and it’s caused by the mega menu. I have it with another one of my sites but couldn’t find what caused it – that had a mega menu as well. However, when I created the mega menu on this site the same issue started so I was able to work out the culprit. If I turn off the option for MM or untick primary menu the 500 error disappears.

8. I am using an element for the mega menu and I have 4 info boxes. I was hoping to have the image on the left and the text on the right, it shows fine in the element but when view on the menu (check out home designs) it shows with the text below?

Hi,

I am hoping you can help me with a few things.

I am using Pods to create CPT. I am trying to edit the Archive page template but am having a few issues.

I have created this search archive template using the Search and Filter Results page – link is in the next email. I would like to try and get the Home Design CPT Archive page to display like this.

On the Home Design Archive page I need to:

1. Change the Read More text to View Home Design
2. I am trying to show the Category but for some reason even though I have it turned on in the Meta it is not returning a value. All the other meta works just not the category. I had to add some code in the functions to get each of the Home Design Category pages to populate so not sure if that needs to be edited for this?
3. To display the 4 icons and text I have created an element and then put the shortcode into the excerpt. Is there a better way to do this can I use an existing hook for this so I don’t need to add it into all the home design excerpts? I am not that crash hot on creating archive post templates through pods so I am trying to get things to work as best I can.

The client would like the header to have two nav bars underneath each other.

There are other sites where I have found this would be useful if the logo could merge all 3 rows of the first column and then the other columns stay as normal. Kind of like in the footer how you have the Column Direction I think that would be great to have in the header as well.

I have the two nav bars under each other with a top margin at -20px but it’s not really sitting right. Any ideas on how I can get this to sit a bit better?

Having done a basic layout using Kadence Theme and plugins by Kadence, I checked the site with Internet Explorer 11.
– Header colors changed… Fonts, links, background
– Header font changed (from Open Sans to Times New Roman, I think)
– Button styling changed/missing
– Mobile manu not working at all
– Search not working at all
– Footer styling also totally gone

There were problems with most plugins, so I disabled all of them. This didn’t help with the header or footer.

What is the level of backwards support there is supposed to be? Is this normal? Sorry I do not have a link right now because it’s behind credentials but it could be arranged.

I know that IE is an outdated browser, but 2-4% of our visitors still use it.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your quick response! That is still producing a JSON error for me.

I’m testing a fixed element(or default, fixed on bottom), below the footer, all audiences. With a row block > 1 column > Kadence Advanced Header and I still get this error: “Publishing failed. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

Let me know if you try that and it publishes it for you.

I have a footer defined with the 4 equal cells…but I don’t want them to be equal. Is there some CSS I can use to maybe go 30/20/20/30? Or play around to find something that works? Thanks!

Found it. The background has appeared only for single service posts e.g. https://naturescapes.web2.amweb.nz/services/garden-design/

I have tried the following but it is getting away from my “all in one” solution:

div.kt-blocks-post-grid-item-inner, .col-md-5.pcside, article .kt-inside-inner-col, .page.contact-us .kadence-column_a59094-a2, footer > .container {
    background: rgba(255,255,255,0.5);
    padding: 10px;
}

Hi Shaun,
You would paste it into your footer output in Theme Options > Header and Footer Scripts. You may need to enable this from Theme Optoins > Theme Extensions.

I am trying to move an existing site from the ascend theme to Kadence theme, but we are using 3 theme options that I cannot find in Kadence:

1) “Theme Options” -> “Blog Settings” -> “Blog Navigation Options” : Blog post navigation setting = Navigate through categories
We are using a number of categories and we want to ensure that on the blog pages the footer only shows navigation arrows to other posts in the same category.

2) “Theme Options” -> “Mobile Header” -> “Mobile Menu Options” -> “Show search in Mobile Menu” = On
I want the search option to show up in the tablet/phone version of the main menu

3) “Theme Options” -> “Mobile Top Icon Bar”
This is useful to create a compact mini menu, but I can’t find it in Kadence.

Are these available in the Kadence theme ? If so where do I find them ? If not then how can I get the equivalent functionality.

Hey Dave,
Sorry for the delay! Each menu item has default padding to create spacing. You can remove the left padding for the first menu item with this css:

#footer-menu #menu-item-245 a {
    padding-left: 0 !important;
}
