Hannah, hello again – the css code in this link (https://www.kadencewp.com/knowledge-base/footer-always-at-bottom/) after I’ve put it into the CSS section of Customiser, does not appear to do anything. Can you check please?
Using Next Gen theme
In forum: Virtue ThemeAugust 18, 2020 at 12:47 pm #255162Hey,
It appears you are using the simple mobile header (turned in your theme options). That doesn’t have a topbar so there wouldn’t be a place to show.My personal opinion is that you put the language switch in the footer and in the drop down and not give it huge space on mobile. Those plugins usually do a fine job picking up which language to show based on the ip info of the reader.
However, if you want a topbar on mobile you would just have to turn off the simple mobile header.

I think what was happening (in case this happens to anyone else) is that I inadvertently was loading TWO instances of the FB Messenger “Chat” plugin.
1. From the official WooCommerce / Facebook Extension
2. Via additional code I’d added (courtesy of Facebook) to the </head> area, using the Header/Footer scripts tool / option on your Theme OptionsSo.. as expected ZERO to do with Ascend, as far as I can tell 🙂
Sorry for any trouble. Best of all, by removing that pasted-in code, the Messenger chat plugin is still there AND it works without the glitch. Yay.

In forum: Ascend ThemeAugust 17, 2020 at 4:03 am #255004Hi,
I have this theme in several sites and this is the first site to display this behaviour.
When I try to expand any widget location I get no reaction. I also cannot drag any widgets to the widget areas.When I navigate to the widget area, the only one expanded is Primary sidebar – I cannot close this one or open any other ones. Its like they are not reacting to mouse interaction.
There is data in the footer columns as well as the other widget areas as they were working previously.
The site has been updated to latest theme version, I cannot expand the theme details either.
I was thinking of adding a new theme, deleting Ascend and reinstalling but have so many products I don’t want to lose them or have to set up the menus again.regards

Thanks Ben,
This is really helpful. I assume I should set my override on the footer to have auto margin also?
@media (min-width: 992px) {
.site-footer-row-container-inner .site-container{
max-width: 1920px;
padding: 0px 15px 0px 15px;
margin: 0px auto;
}
}thanks again 🙂
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Blog Sidebar
Hi Chris,
No, I think I created my custom Sidebars from the Appearances>Widgets page, where there is an option to create a new Sidebar at the top. All of my sidebars were created this way. My two main sidebars are called “Blog Sidebar” and “Tours Sidebar”, but neither of these show up in the various places where one wants to select a theme sidebar. Instead only the following are listed “Primary, sidebar1, Footer 1, Footer 2, Footer 3, Footer 4.”
How to change this?
Best, John

Hey Chris,
Sorry for the delay! I’m not sure that I’m totally following… you’re wanting certain rows full-width while other content remains contained, correct? Looks like you were able to put a set container on your footer. Can you explain in a bit more detail what it is at this point that you’re still wanting?
Thanks! And sorry if I misunderstood.Best,
HannahIn forum: Kadence ThemeHi,
I think there’s a layout bug in Theme settings. I added an image widget to the left-middle row in footer. In the view screen (when viewing mobile view), if you shift-click on the widget to edit the settings panel will look like this – see attached. I’m using Chrome/Windows 10, 1920×1024thanks
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Search within my site
August 12, 2020 at 11:22 am #254703Hi! For the search bar that I have in my navigation, or in the footer, if I don’t add anything and just push enter, it shows a list of my latest pages. Some of these pages are client portals, they are password protected but I would rather not have them be shown. I use Yoast SEO to block it from Google, but how do I block these pages from my own search widget?
Thanks!In forum: Membership ForumsIn reply to: Ascend Theme Pro – Align menu centre
Hi Hannah,
The majority of content and pages on the site will sit within the width we have set in: “Content Max Width” (1290px).
However as with all our sites there’s various rows that we always set to something much larger, such as 1920px. This content is typically header, footer, page banners and various promo style rows (typically on home page but sometimes on other pages). However, a typical content/post page width would be 1290px.We set 1920px on these various pieces of content – header, footer, various promo style rows (typically on home page).
Am I doing this incorrectly?
Should I be setting the “Content Max Width” to 1920px and setting the “Narrow Layout Content Max Width” to 1290px and assigning this globally (if this is possible) to all our pages and posts, etc?If I did it this way, Id still need to set containment widths on various elements in the home page that are constrained to: 1290px
Hope this makes sense 😊

Hi Hannah,
I think I figured it out, could you please confirm this is the correct way to target it and help me do the same to the footer please?
@media (min-width: 992px) {
.site-header-row-container-inner .site-container{
max-width: 1920px;
padding: 0px 10px 0px 10px;
margin: 0;
}
}thanks
In forum: Kadence ThemeHello,
Do you have your site URL you’re working with currently? Generally you’re going to set the items in the header and footer to be “Contained” in the Kadence theme layout tools.
Is this what you were looking for? If not let me know and we can look further.
Thanks!
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHannah and Chris,
I picked up on your comment about the image being very large. I looked into that issue and discovered that the image had not been resized for the web. Then I remembered why. It was not resized because my photo editor does not allow me to resize a .png photo without losing the transparency. After your comment, I did some research and discovered how to resize and keep transparency of the .png file. Now the image appears much more proportioned in the footer than it did before. It seems that I do not need the CSS code now.
Hopefully this problem is solved now, and I greatly appreciate that you both took the time to help me.
Thank you.

Custom menus (full width format) would be great so you can set up columns and what menus are in them, add a promo image/text far left or right, and chose icon would be great. I haven’t found a plugin that really does this well and plays nice yet.
Structure builder for headers, footers, left/right columns which allowed gutenberg editing/blocks and set them globally or page by page.
Maybe most importantly for me at this stage, since I’m not a power user would be power tips manual for the most common things that need custom styles or functions. I’m finding it’s not that easy to find the answers searching the forums and there are quite a few things when working with bespoke homepage designs that require a little custom css.

Hey,
1. Sure, you can add custom functions to your functions.php in a child theme. Or you can use a plugin like the following that allows you to create a custom layout with Elementor and set it as your header- https://wordpress.org/plugins/header-footer-elementor/
Have you checked out our newest theme, Kadence? The Header is probably the best part about it as it’s fully customizable. And there will be lots more options coming with Pro (coming out very soon). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwn20GiePPQ2. You would need to use a plugin. Are you a part of Kadence Membership? If so, check out Kadence Share: https://www.kadencewp.com/product/kadence-simple-share/
Or you can use a free plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-to-any/3. Sorry, I’m not sure what you’re asking. Can you explain further?
Best,
Hannah -
