    Hi Ben,

Yes I have the mo file in the languages folder. I noticed your link is different than mine: http://starlmodels.com/wp-content/themes/pinnacle_premium/languages/nl.mo is where you can find the file.

I am running the pinnacle theme, not the virtue theme by the way.

    Hi Ben,

Let me understand. I downloaded 3.6.9 virtue release. I opened the language folder and then it_IT.po file with poedit.
I saw there are 54 strings not translated.
Then, as usual I also checked Catalogue > Update from .POT file and selecting the virtue.pot included in the folder it appears there are 138 new files and 14 obsolete.
What do I have to do, translate the it_IT.po file as it is in the folder or I have to update it using the virtue.pot then translating it?

    Thanks
    Angelo

If you are wanting to place in a global area you have to use wp-content/languages/themes/virtue_premium-nl.mo

But either option still doesn’t show me a mo file? Can you open in ftp and make sure you have the mo file there?

    Hi Ben,

So it has to be in the theme’s languages folder? Initially I assumed it had to be in the main language folder since that is where the nl_NL.mo and .po files are located as well.

I just placed the nl.mo and nl.po files in the ‘../wp-content/themes/pinnacle_premium/languages’ folder, but I still can’t get it to work.

    Any thoughts?

    Hey Alexander,
You can change the On Sale text in Theme Options > Language Settings. Does this work for you?

making two sliders is the easiest way. Once per language.

Actually there is a built in way to do this using WPML string translation. Just set a custom word in theme options > breadcrumbs as the option: Home title for breadcrumbs

Then in your string translations you will see the option to translate that per language.

Hmm, theme options > breadcrumbs as the option: Home title for breadcrumbs

But that would only set it. Let me make some changes and then I’ll update with a workaround for this so that you can translate per language.

    Hey,
In the premium version you can change this text to whatever you want from Theme Options > Language Settings.

Yes you have to translate every product. You also need a plugin to make polylang fully work with woocommerce, something like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-polylang-integration/

As you can see this doesn’t have to do with the sale products just look at your shop page: http://www.chillbag.me/shop/

It’s empty because you haven’t set up the product for each language yet.

    Hey Hannah,

You can see the product on sale carousel because I had uninstalled the Polylang plugin to see the carousel on my home page.

So if I will install it again it can delete it again.

I must translate my site for 2 languages today.

Is there a solution for that ?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Many thanks Ben for all your efforts in solving this unclear issue. I confirm that everything loads great and lightbox works perfectly. I would like to translate the site in another language via a plug in like Polylang, do you think that the plug in you have installed might have any consequence?

    Hi,

    on indiva-kashmir.com

…i need the site in 2 languages. It will be a small shop with max 100 products.

Researching the net i have found that WPML is slow with WOO and Polilang is not well integrated with WOO.
I also have the chance to test with 2 x WOO instalations one for each language (on the .com and .de domains) and there is a plugin synchronising the stock.

This is on a managed server – not a very strong one with 2x 2,4 GHz proc and 4GB RAM – so i am concerned the site will be slow. A few other small Virtue sites are on the same server but nothing resource killing.

    Also my settings are:
    PHP = 5.6 – can upgrade to 7
    max_execution_time = 180
    memory_limit = 128

Can you please recommend the right approach and proper settings ?

    Thank you,
    B.

    Hello,

Somehow after installing the plugin Polylang for translating my website, All my homepage is gone and I was able to refresh it, but My products on sale carousel on my homepage is gone, I can see only the title “Products on Sale” and that’s it.

    (This is my website: http://www.chillbag.me)

There is some problem with this multi-language plugin ?

    Thank you,
    Mike

    You can keep shouldn’t matter.

I just tested and it works… where are you placing your file? I don’t see it here: http://starlmodels.com/wp-content/themes/pinncale_premium/language/nl.mo

    Your using poedit right?

The code is there for them inside the theme. What version of WPML string translation are you using?

Have you tried running a refresh for the strings.

You could approach this differently using the custom carousel shortcodes then having two different shortcode setups per language in your page content.

    Ben

    #96316

Ok then based on what your saying the carousel shortcode is your best method since your wanting to define different categories per language.

Good morning, can I delete the top menu (the one that moves), or lock it? Sorry but I can not use technical language 🙂 I hope you understand 🙂

Hi Hannah, thanks for coming back to me. In the meantime i had to find some solution, so i used a shortcode carousel for the english page. and used “page content” as “portfolio carousel” does not show. and i changed the order of the elements of the homepage layout manager in each language. as a way around..

The issue is what already somebody experienced with the pinnacle theme and wpml, please see
    https://www.kadencewp.com/support-forums/topic/pinnacle-carousel-does-not-show-category-wpml-multilingual/

when i dont use any filter for the portfolio categories, it shows the carousel in both languages, if i choose in the theme settings – frontpage – portfolio category in german (ex Speisen) – then it is blank in this field in english (in the theme settings). it only takes a category in one language.
i have two categories for the portfolios – food and press. and on the frontpage i only want to show the food portfolio carousel..

    #96259

this is exactly my problem! but i am using wpml string translation 2.3.7. No use to go back to an older version. With no filter – show all portfolio categories – it works on both languages, with the portfolio category in german “Speisen” in english “food” it does only show the portfolio carousel in one language. what to do?? (i have posted this problem also in the VIRTUE thread as i use virtue in this case)
