    Thank for the answer but no, it does not work. I worked before I installed the PolyLang plugin.
    After installation, when I’m editing a page in a certain language, I can see only the pictures that were uploaded “in that language” …
    So to use the standard Virtue carousel or gallery I have to reload the pictures for every language. I’v also tried to modify the setting “the widget is visualized for [all languages] drop down in the gallery creation page but ha no effects.
    Maybe it is because I installed the plugin after creating some content for the website.

    Hi Ben! So loco translate won’t conflict with polylang then? I don’t know if its better than to keep the language just french in that case….I am unsure if the differences matter (between fr and fr-qc) since this is not a blog type website where local colloquialisms might matter more….I guess I can try out one plugin and see how it goes with loco-tranlate.

    Hey looks like you set the language to fr-QC not just french so you would need to make that specific translation for quebec french.

    That is what you can use loco translate for. You can then go into the plugin settings and make a translation for each plugin and the theme to quebec french. Note that most plguins and the theme are already translated to french but not quebec french so you would have to do that from scratch.

    Hi Kevin!

    Here is a link to a page with the language issue:

    http://new.alarch-skylights.com/fr/?s=escaliers

    Polylang is what I installed, I forget the details but it seemed the best suited. Ben Ritner has suggested to install loco translate for translating a plugin (to help with translating plugins) but I have not activated it because I don’t want there to be any conflicts with polylang. I wonder if loco translate will pick up the search results as polylang did not.

    Hi, I’ve created several Image Galleries.
    Then I’ve installed the Polylang plugin. Since then the images in the Virtue Gallery widget appear only in one language. So if I want to have the same gallery in thress languages I have to LOAD 3 times the images. I cannot use the same image for all the languages.

    Anybody had the same problem and found a solution ?

    Thanks.

    The contact forms I found seem to depend on the main language of the website and I added CONTACT FORM 7 and am translating the lines myself and installed that form in the french contact page while I kept the Clean and Simple Contact Form in english. Parts of the Contact Form did not appear in the strings translation for Polylang. I assume that this is normal.

    The only thing left is to figure out how to add the captcha in both languages…

    Hello Ben!

    Changing the font etc… worked nicely!

    I am still trying to figure out how to make the plugin [cscf-contact-form] in french…just confirmed; according to plugin author, I must choose one language for the whole site. I will try to find a french plugin which I could put only on the french contact page…

    I just saw that a friend of me wrote
    in settings
    CSS <?php icl_post_languages(); ?>

    Is it correct i have no idea

    If you’re using polylang can’t you make two contact forms, one for each language?

    In the text of your tab of your site origin editor you need to add a space between the <i class="icon-mobile"></i> and the text next to it. icon-mobile is just one example. There you can change click on the visual tab and select the font and change color.

    Did you create two sliders?

    One for each language?

    Thank you, Hannah. I tried the custom css, but that removed ANY h2 there, so I could not include my own H2 for each product. So, on the Language Settings page for the “Product Page: Description header text” I just typed in a space in the field. That looks like I want it to, at least on my desktop. It took away the default heading, and my own shows up for each product. Are you aware of any downside for doing it this way?

    #88564

    Ok let’s roll back, I don’t understand want your saying so I’ll try to give you the easiest directions (there are many many ways to do this).

    It seems you would be much better off making two sliders.
    Less to explain so let’s start there make two sliders one for each language. Label then differently then copy each shortcode.

    Place one shortcode in your page content for the english page. Then place one in your page content for the french version of that home page.

    Hi Max,
    You can change this text from Theme Options > Language Settings. Or you can remove it with this css:

    #tab-description h2 {
        display: none;
    }

    Just paste that in your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings.

    Hi,
    I have used WordPress extensively and liked the look of Pinnacle, so purchased it. I soon realized that it has far more functionality than I bargained for and much of the language used in the editor is foreign to me. I wanted to put a simple header image on the Home page with my website name, which I finally managed by using photoshop to add white space for the page title to show up. I couldn’t find any image size specs anywhere in the documentation. Usually it gives you dimensions. I like the way it looks on the computer monitor, but it is terrible on mobile devices. The other pages have different images (smaller) and I like having the menu title at the top left as well (in the white space). Again, I had to tweak with photoshop and it looks like hell on mobile devices. The website is http://www.danicoleman.com

    I love the look and feel otherwise. I know there is a learning curve, and I’ve watched some videos to no avail (is the interface different now?). Thank you for any help you might be able to provide.

    I see the revolution slider on your home page? You can translate that in the slider itself.

    Or if you prefer you can add the slider to the page itself using the shortcode.

    Or if you prefer you can add the slider in the shortcode box by selecting cyclone/shortcode slider. Then you can translate which shortcode is used per language in your string translation settings as part of wpml.

    Hey,
    Theme options > language settings. You can change the name.

    Simo,
    Are you using a plugin to translate? You would have to translate that string in the language files. You can use a plugin like this- https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

    In the future please start a new topic as this one has already been marked as resolved.

    Hi,

    I’m trying again the combination of polylang and virtue as I really enjoy the features of lingotek provided with polylang.

    It seems to work well for pages and posts thus far but I seem to run into problems with the portfolio entries. These give a ‘Not Found’ page. I’m suspicious that this is caused by the language slug being inserted in the URL.

    Would you mind looking into this, as perhaps it’s just a simple fix on your end. My site is , on the English homepage you can find a ‘Featured Projects’ -> ‘3DN Website’. Clicking on this link does not work.

    I also have the same problem with the Woocommerce test item on that frontpage, I do not know however if this is something you could fix as well.

    Thanks in advance,
    Fred Leeflang

    BTW: I left the ‘kadence’ login there if you need to login on the dashboard. Let me know if you need the password for it.
