    Hey,
When you add the redirect to the .com and .eu you would just make the redirect url the url for that language. For example domain.com would redirect to domain.de/en/ or whatever permalink structure your using for the multilingual site.

    Hi,

need to build a small multilanguage site and i have the .com, .de and .eu of the same domain.
I’d like to install and build the site at “domain.de”
The “domain.com” and “domain.eu” will redirect to “domain.de” site. Is there a way to automatically choose the language depending on the link choosen by the visitor ? …if the visitor typed “domain.com” in his browser he will land in the english version, the “domain.de” in german and so on ?

    Thank you,
    B.

    Hey,
You would have to use a child theme. Edit the header and change the logo link to have a conditional php function. You need to ask polylang for that function but it would be something like if current language is this do this else to that.

In your child theme you would have to edit line 16 of the templates/header.php file.

    Hello,

I have a multilingual site I am working on with Polylang and the client insists on a landing page so visitors can choose their language.

Because the Landing page is now set as the static Front page, the header logo links back to the landing page and not to a home page for each language.

I would like the header logo to link back to the home page for the language of choice.

I have a landing page here:

When users click on the site logo on the English side, I want them to go here:

When users click on the site logo on the French side, I want them to go here:

I previously posted this on the Polylang forum, but since they don’t have access to Virtue Premium, they can’t test.

Ideas on how to do this?

    Thank you,

    Arrien

I don’t see a login option? So not sure what you mean? are you looking at the comments logged out?

No you can’t have comments for the home page. It’s not set up that way.

You have your language set to “es-CL” instead of “es_ES” so you will need to translate the theme for that language code. This plugin can help: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

Banzai! I found out a workaround!!!

I reinstalled wp 4.2.2 just in case but no changes happened. Then, I went again in the menus editor and look for the tags not translated. I made a search in the tag window then re-set an item in the menu.
I found out what could cause the messing. If you have the backend language set to English and then switching the menu button language try to edit the Italian menu, the tag content goes in conflict.
Backend language and Menu language must coincide. It’s a weird behaviour but it worked now.

    Thanks for support

    Hi Ben,
It’s not only a plugin problem.

It’s something related to wp and tags but I don’t understand how to manage it.

I deactivated all plugins including qTranslateX, switched to 2015 theme and assigning the menu to primary menu I found that also the Danimarca (Denmark) item correctly shown when the plugin is activated results without translation. The only one including translation or language quicktags is Finlandia (Suomi-Finland). All other items seems don’t have translation.
I go to Appearance > Menus and items are all correctly translated.

    Any idea?
    Thanks

IN woocommerce there is a languages folder. You can also look into using a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/loco-translate/

OK. The link is http://www.aaxsus.se/ – see the buttons at the bottom (KATALOG 2015 & Prenumerera här).
I want to avoid using CSS, but this maybe is the only way to fix it. I this particular case I prefere to use Page Builder & Image Manu item, as maybe someone else has to do changes in the future (and do not expect them to understand CSS).

BTW. WP i something new for me and Virtue Premium is the first theme I’m implementing. I’m impressed! I managed to build a new website for the company I’m working for within 2 weeks with no previous knowledge of WP. (Well, I know a few good, old programming languages… and HTML).

Thank you for excellent support forum and fantastic support!

    Well, not exactly.
In in Theme Options > Language Settings you can change Search Placeholder TextStandard: from “Search” to something else. I did it already and this change apply to the Search-widget.
But this change do not affect the Woocommerce Product search widget. I still have the placeholder text in English.

    #46567

    Hey,
You can edit that in Theme Options > Language Settings.

    Hy Ben,

They are not working fine at all. You have to hover not clicking and see that Menu is messed up with English and Italian words in Italian version. Please, check better.
Hover over the words Blog & Viaggi in Italian. You will see that there are some items in English and some Italian.
i.e. FINNISH LAPLAND (must be in Italian LAPPONIA FINLANDESE), ITALY (ITALIA) while you see correctly shown DANIMARCA standing for Denmark.
If I look at tags in admin panel all items are correctly translated in both languages.
What could be, indeed? How can the wp core change in a suddenly?

Edit: It’s a problem with Tag only other menu with category items or post title work perfectly.

    Thanks
    Angelo

A lang-redirect.php file has been created for me in order to have viewers directed based on the browser language. This file gets deleted each time there is an update to the virtue theme and I therefore intend to create a child theme (I’ve downloaded but not yet installed the virtue child theme). Should the lang-redirect.php syntax be put directly into and be part of the functions.php or should it be a stand-alone file? If the latter is the case, what do I have to do (what do I have to include in the functions.php) to “call” on the lang-redirect.php file and make the redirect work?

    Regards

    Topic: MULTILANGUAGE

I have two problems with multilanguage. Only with Image menu and Icon menu. Have WPML and change the translation in WPML-String transaltion. First problem when I chack if the translation work it works but check second time it does not work. It goes to our language. Try to change the default language -same problem. And the second problem is the link. If the link is writen in default language it does not go to language you have selected.

    Dear all

    My website:
In the English language I had large menu but in the Vietnamese don’t.
    I used WPLM plugin.
    Cloud you help me.
    Thanks,
    Error:
Sorry, but the page you were trying to view does not exist.
It looks like this was the result of either:

    a mistyped address
    an out-of-date link
    incorrect permalink settings
You can return back to the site’s homepage and see if you can find what you are looking for or use the search form below.

    Hi Hannah,

    thanks for your reply.
I found out that the page title was related to the YOAST Plugin, the breadcrumb however seem to be controlled by Pinnacle.

What I did now was to translate the respective strings in the pinnacle .po file (the haven’t been translated yet) and copied two DE files (mo and po) into my child theme folder /languages subdirectory. I also added this to my child theme’s function.php

    add_action(‘after_setup_theme’, ‘my_child_theme_setup’);
    function my_child_theme_setup() {
    load_child_theme_textdomain( ‘pinnacle_premium’, get_stylesheet_directory() . ‘/languages’ );
    }

Unfortunately, still no luck. Besides the pagination on archive pages, the breadcrumb for search results is also not translated.

Any Ideas how i can fix this?

    Thanks

    Daniel
