In reply to: Subcategories of categories on same page
August 23, 2014 at 10:59 pm #15821I’m not totally sure I understand…
But here goes,
In the woocommerce settings you can set categories to show products of child categories or to show just the category image and link to sub category. Anything else would require that you completely change how woocommerce loops through categories, and I would suggesting seeking out woocomerce for the best route to do that.
What you can do is create your own category pages. By that I mean use a page and add your own shortcodes to the page. with your own headings.

Hi,
My two questions are:(1) First question: Is it possible attribute a highlight color (Primary Color, the color for a link) for pages (#2967ab; e.g. http://beta.portal-sites.net/) and a different highlight color (Primary Color) for posts (#c44d58; e.g. http://beta.portal-sites.net/blog/calendario-escolar-exames-2014-2015/)?
(2) Second question: Is it possible attribute a hover color effect for pages and a different hover color effect for posts?
Thanks,

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Hover effect
Hi Ben,
Is it possible attribute a different hover color effect in posts (blog) and in pages? In other words, the hover color effect for my site is defined to #2967ab. However, I want a hover color effect of #2967ab for pages and a hover color effect of #c44d58 for posts.
Thanks,

Hi Ben, thanks again for the info. It is clear to me the page content needs to be enabled and this is done.
Re the icons for the menu, I just checked it, but unfortunaly not all icons are in line of the menu content there fore need to think what to do.
Perhaps I need to design icons myself in photoshop … will check how to do this.Andy

August 23, 2014 at 9:04 am #15773Hey José Luís,
Let me make sure some things are clear,
You can only have one sidebar on a page.
You can select which one that is but it can only be one.
You can use the home widget area by enabling it in the theme options > home layout. That widget area will appear on the page where you add it in the layout manager. It is not a sidebar, it’s a widget area.Hope that helps,
Ben

August 23, 2014 at 8:45 am #15767If you are using a static page as your home page, then you can add icons to the page content, but you have to make sure in the theme options > home layout. That “page content” is enabled.
As for adding to the menu, the tutorial explains that pretty well, once you have the icons placed in your menu then I can give you the css you need to make the style circular and hide the text if that is what you want.
step one though is adding icons to your menu, which looking at your site I still don’t see?All css can be added in your theme options > advanced settings. Custom css box.

Hey, the extra sidebar is not meant to show up on the left side of the screen. Right now it looks like you’ve got your primary sidebar set to your homepage. If you want to show the extra sidebar on your page then go to theme options > home layout and beside “choose a sidebar for your homepage” select extra sidebar.

Hi Ben and Hannah, thanks both for your feedback. Have checked the links you have send and try to understand how it works.
In the menu, it works and thanks for this, was very helpful, the guidelines are clear and understandable.
Also to add an icon on a page, is now clear and I also find that you can change them. How ever if I want to use it in a page (home page) the icon still does not appear in on the Home page, could it be the Revolution slider or other settings is stopping this?!
Following your comment; “As for adding circle icons in your header it depends on the header type you are using. This isn’t a built in option so you have to add custom css.
How do I know if this is possible and how to add those to the header?! Can you explain this more in details, re add custom css, where and how to do this?!
The idea is to have the icons in the Home page, in the Menu header, instead of just text.Andy
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello there,
Could you tell me why my page http://www.rasinskiart.pl cannot be displayed on safari web browser? On my home page all I can see is my menu but no pictures, no slider…

August 22, 2014 at 10:36 am #15694Hey,
You should update your theme.. your using 2.4.1Also you are loading the flex slider on your home page, but it’s not loading, looks like there is an issue where you just need to add a transition type. Just make sure fade or slide is selected in the theme options > slider settings transition type.
