In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Home Page – page content
Hi Ben.
I am just working out how I want my home page to be. *Login to see link
I thnk I originally used the demo content, so if you have a look on my page I am a bit confused as to what the element under my first Kadence slider is. (it is still a demo content photo, but very shallow in height, with the words/link “Want to See More”) . It seems to be part of page content but I cannot work out where to edit it, in the ThemeOptions/Home Layout. I like the way that the scrolling of the page seems to reveal different parts of the photo along the vertical axis.. how do I acheive that with a photo of my own?
I tried to look at ThemeOptions/Home Slider, but the one I created was added in addition to that photo , so where do I get to edit that photo?ALso, I find it strange that when you go to edit the HomePage, there are no widgets there under the page builder. The backend of this home page is only visible / editable in the Theme Options. Is that supposed to be like that?
Many thanks
PeticaIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
When I click on the image on the product page it brings it up in some sort of pop-up window/lightbox. Can I switch it off?
Is there any way to put some navigation buttons (only previous/next) onto the featured image on product page?Thanks for your help,

Here is what I ended up doing. I put the following in the css
.cerakote p {
background-color: #252525;
padding: 10px;
border-radius: 10px;
border: 2px solid #959595;
}
Once this was done it made two “P” show up in the footer. So I added this to the footer pcredits.
.cerakote .footercredits p {
display: none;
}Those two things seem to do what I want. As long as it doesn’t mess with another page. I have gone through and checked them yet. Do you think what I did was okay?
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Page Troubles
Okay, I played around with it a little bit. Got the background color, got the top, and bottom padding. Even put a top, and bottom border in there. But is there a way to put a border-radius, and a complete border with the visual style. The radius, and border color are kind of going with what I have already done to some of the other pages.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Masonry Grid
July 3, 2014 at 7:39 pm #12143The images in the virtue image widget will expand until they are either contained by a containing div or they reach there max size. So if your using in page builder then add the image width to a column not a one column layout but a three column layout. That will keep the image from expanding past the column.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to set up like this page Site Style 3
July 3, 2014 at 6:57 pm #12142Hey,
Any chance you can be more specific? Are you not sure how to set up the home page?
https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-home-page-with-virtue/
It’s built with the revolution slider and the image menu, sale products, featured products from the theme options > home layout
Or is the header the issue? or footer? Menus?Ben

July 3, 2014 at 6:49 pm #12140Hey instead of css you can in pagebuilder style each row, so for example the row with the text widget you can add a background color by clicking the “visual style” button. Same goes for the gmaps.
And as for the header spacing you need to go into the theme options > main settings and put the menu spacing to 0 for top and bottom.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Masonry Grid
Hannah…thank you so much…fantastic! Just wondering now about Virtue: image menu item (widget) with pagebuilder. Could you tell me how to control your image sizes so they shrink down to about the same size as the images in the standard masonry grid (ie a grid that is not through the image menu item widget or pagebuilder)? Need to use fairly large images for the lightbox but my frames are cut off in the grid at the size I want for 3 columns.
Thanks
Ali
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Which is the the best way to add custom icons?
July 3, 2014 at 5:18 pm #12134It would be much much easier to add shortcodes to the page using the icon box shortcode then trying to add to the list in the theme options. I don’t understand why not use that option? Adding to the icon list in the theme options will require that you add to the the icons array in the “kad icons” theme options extension. file “field_kad_icons.php” line 119 and 185

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeHello, and thanks for all the support you provide. I’ve been trying to customize the User Registration Form by adding customer billing information fields, an “agree to terms” check box, and captcha during the registration process on my site. I’ve not been successful. What is the best way to accomplish this? Is there a way to do this through the theme or is it a woocommerce thing? I’ve tried wp-members plugin, cimy extra fields plugin, and the I-agree plugin… although I can get these plug-ins to show up on the registration page, the validation doesn’t seem to be working. All a user needs to do is enter an email and password, and completely ignore all other “required” fields to register. Also, the information is not saved on the admin side. Any help would be much appreciated. I’m using the most current version of the Virtue Premium and woocommerce. The site: *Login to see link
Thank you

Here is the page that I am having difficulty with ( *Login to see link ) I am wanting to put a background color on the address, and the google map seperately. I am also wanting to close up the space between the header, and the address. I have tried everything I can figure, but can’t seem to get it.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Which is the the best way to add custom icons?
Thanks Ben, I finally was able to get my icon into the site.
Next question. If I want to use my custom icon on my home page which is currently using the home layout icon menu generator to create the icon boxes for my menu, how can I use my custom icon being that it isn’t selectable from the icon menu home layout dialog?
Is there a way to edit the existing icon boxes at a code level, where I could replace the icon name to load my custom icon?
Thanks.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Masonry Grid
Are there settings to have the masonry grid appear rather than the default wordpress gallery?
When I “create gallery” for a page, I get [gallery ids="532"] in the text editor, but I want [gallery masonry="true" caption="true" ids="532"] – I copied it from your own demo of a masonry grid because I couldn’t figure out how to set it up. Would like it as default, if possible.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Woocommerce or Kadence theme broken
i built a base product yesterday to use as a template for all landscape photos. i put in print type (luster paper/metallic paper/canvas/metal) and base width (8″ – 40″). i hand made all variations as the system to let woocommerce do it has sucked for me every time i’ve tried it.
when i was finished with my 37 variations, i saved and went to the page. all but one were working. for whatever reason, canvas 20″ said “sorry, this product is not available”. no missing information. price, print type, width…and present.
today i logged in to work on it. and…all of my variations are given me this error now. this woocommerce system is a piece of crap. it’s why all the web dev i do for ecommerce is on other platforms. the issues of variation order are maddening. this is maddening. and i haven’t even been close to have a testable product line and shopping cart experience yet. i can’t imagine how much worse this is going to get.
i don’t understand how they designed (or didn’t) their database, but i’ve been a dba, and this crap makes no sense. there’s no reason i shouldn’t be able to have 200 variables made by their “link all variations” function (which only makes 50 at a time…) and have them come out sorted by the order in which my attributes are presesnt. to have my print types come up all jumbled on their own, and then have the widths all jumbled inside that? ridiculous.
i have been trying to get the ecommerce part of this site up for two weeks. i have scaled back drastically, removing print types like acrylic, wood, and giclee, in order to give this thing something simple to work with. it still doesn’t work.
when i go to woocommerce for help, they say it’s a theme issue. i’d be surprised if it was, or if anyone here would admit it and not send me scurrying back to woocommerce.
all i know is i bought this theme (which i really like) because it was ecommerce capable. turns out it’s actually not.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: picture on blog grid posts
Hi,
I have the same issue. The blog grid page doesn’t display the post images, only header and text.
In the post, I’ve added an image to the “featured image” and the “post slider image”.
The images are shown on the start page and in the Virtue: Recent Posts widget.
My theme version is v2.4.6In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: shortcode blog in homepage
July 3, 2014 at 1:13 am #12079There isn’t a shortcode to display the posts that way, you have to use the home page settings. For example making your home page the latest post page and using the “page content”.
https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-home-page-with-virtue/I don’t understand the second part? Can you post a link?
