In reply to: Creating an Intro page with Virtue
Hi Ben,
I totally agree with you about NOT having an Enter page, but the client wants it.
I had tried using the above plugin, but it won’t allow me to have the image fade in – like I have with the Kadence slider.
Does the Splash page use a cookie so one doesn’t have to keep going through the splash page to enter the site each time? Just wondered how it worked.
Thank you,
KathyIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Galleries & Albums
Hello,
I think that perhaps the Portfolio would work best for you, with each of these pages:
http://clwpottery.com/sp002.htmlbeing the individual portfolio items. Then you could configure a main portfolio page that links to the categories that links to the individual items.
Does that work for you?

Here’s the situation with my potter client’s (non-ecommerce) gallery website, followed by my questions:
A Gallery Page will show highlight images from several different SERIES of ceramic pots, with some teaser text about each series.
A “SERIES” is a number of ceramic pots, say a dozen.
Each Series needs its own page, with one shot of each pot in the series.
Each pot image on the Series Page links to a page for that pot.
The specific pot page includes 1 – 3 shots, showing different views of the same pot.(You can see the current site, which I will be completely rebuilding in WP, here: *Login to see link Click on Stillpoint Series to see what I’m talking about.)
My questions:
Is the Kadence Galleries plugin the way to go here, and make a “Gallery” for each pot, and an “Album” for each series?
Or is there a simpler way to go, in which I can somehow enter separate views of each pot, without having to make a separate gallery for each one? (I don’t want to add the complication of WooC to this site, just to be able to cover this issue.)
In other words, is there a way to make a Gallery for each series, and an Album for the main Gallery page, and still be able to link each image in a gallery to multiple views for that pot?

March 29, 2019 at 12:13 pm #221527I suggest something like this:

Just so you know it’s considered bad usability in web my most experts to force people to an enter page.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
My client would like to have an Intro page to their website. I created a page using the “Landing Page” template without the header or footer which has a Kadence Slide Show on it. However, when I set that page to be the home page for the URL, it then converts back to having the header and footer. Any ideas how this page would show up as an intro page?
Thank you,

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Images in widget are cropped
March 29, 2019 at 11:56 am #221521For clarity I see a gallery image being added not an image widget. You have the gallery set to a carousel with two columns. Carousels always attempt to crop images to the same size so that you don’t have a jumping page as it grows for some and shrinks for others.
The few images that are not cropped in your carousel are simply too small. They are not at least the crop size so they are being output “as is”
There is no option to change the attempted crop size using the gallery widget.
You would need to use a gallery shortcode instead:
visual editor widget > add media > create gallery, then click on the text tab and edit the shortcode by adding this to it.
imgwidth="300" imgheight="300"Set the sizes to whatever you would like all the images to be.

okay thank you, Ben
I need to know what slider is used directly under the header logo on the Ascend Magazine Demo theme. I was there and now is gone and I can’t determine where it is. I have looked on Page Content (homepage) and the Home Page Layout Options in Theme Options….but no luck.

March 29, 2019 at 11:45 am #221519Hey,
It’s not an option in virtue because the virtue header doesn’t have the same “transparent” or semi-transparent header options as ascend. If you post a link to your site it’s possible I can give you some hacking code but it would need to be page specific so I need a link.

What are you wanting to do with the css you shouldn’t need to touch it.
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Images in widget are cropped
Hi,
Here is the page… *Login to see link
1. In the sidebar, in the image widget, some of the images are cropped and some or not. I don’t want them cropped. What is causing this and how can I fix it?
2. How do I reduce the white space between the image widget and the call to action button?
Thanks!
GraceIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Transparent Box For Page Header Text
In forum: Ascend ThemeHi:
I want to add a transparent box to the page name text within a page header so the text stands out better. I’m close to the solution, but my CSS applies the opacity to the text as well. Can you help me with the correct CSS?
.page-id-1160 h1.page_head_title.top-contain-title.entry-title {
background-color: black;
opacity: 0.25;
}I am also trying to set the size of the box so it does not span the whole width of the header. Should I do that with setting a “margin” or ?
Thank you!
LorenIn forum: Virtue ThemeHello!
After updating Virtue – Premium 4.9.5, the central photo in the carousel on the Home Page is no longer centred. The first image starts decentralized, aligned to the right.
The second image is seen starting from four quarters of the screen, only in its initial part.In theory, I should see a half photo on the left, then a whole photo in the middle of the Home Page and finally a half photo on the right.
To insert the photos in the Home Page I did: Theme Options> Home Slider> Images in Carousel> (put the images on) Images Slider (one for each line …).
Any ideas to fix it?
Thank you!

In forum: Virtue ThemeI created a new portfolio item and checked, that I set everything the same as the other ones. Once I wanted to add a gallery (by pressing the add/edit gallery button), it lets me choose the pictures but when I press “insert gallery”, it doesn’t show them above the button as usual nor on the page.
Could anyone help me with this issue?

That website doesn’t have siteorigin page builder installed as an active plugin. Are you sure that is the correct site?
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Customizing the Contact Form
Hi,
Here is the page I am working on, *Login to see link
I am not sure if this is your contact form, but it doesn’t seem to be a plugin….Is there a way to
1. make the boxes bigger
2. put more space between each field/question
3. indent the check boxesThanks!
GraceIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeWell, it took a while but the SEXY GIRLS DIRECT TO YOU spammers have found my contact form. I installed the Kadence Recaptcha plugin and activated the Theme Specific Enabled options for the contact form, but it is not showing up.
Can you check and see if I’m missing something?
Thanks
Heres the page it is installed on; *Login to see link
It’s at the bottom of the page.
