In reply to: Multilingual 404 with wmpl
March 13, 2019 at 6:31 pm #219713ok, I found the issue and I updated your site.
The way to translate the custom 404 is to create a different page (not a translation of the page) and then use the string translate to switch out the page id for the custom 404 page.

March 13, 2019 at 5:03 pm #219703I suggest you make a page instead of a portfolio post if you want the url structure to be algo.com/corporation-facilities
You can’t change the slug of just one portfolio post. You can change it for all of them to be “facilities” or whatever slug you want to use but you need a slug and the slug is the same for all portfolio posts.
Does that make sense?

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: WooCommerce product category
Hello,
The category filter doesn’t filter through pages, it only filters the products that have loaded on that page.
For a filter to search through pages, then you would need to use an ajax filter such as this one:

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: WooCommerce product category
Hi,
The website calibare.com I have put the products in its proper category. Which show for example on *Login to see linkBut if I go to the Shop page *Login to see link and click the category Hair Removal then only 2/4 products appear.
Also, It shows multiple pages of the category when it is only showing 2 products. Clicking page 2 it takes me to the second page of all when I am on a different category. Is there a way to not show the page numbers when there are not more products to be shown on the next page for that product category?
Thank you!

no, I want to disable ONLY the subcategories in the store page, keeping the main categories (as you can see in the image).

Hey Shaun,
There’s actually a header output built into your theme options. From theme options > theme extensions make sure “Header and Footer Script output” is turned on. Then save and refresh the page. You should then see Header and Footer Scripts in your theme options panel and there you’ll find a header output tab.
Hope that helps!Hannah

*Login to see linkIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: strange infinite scroll behaviour
March 13, 2019 at 5:42 am #219602HI, i installed the 1.7.3 version on the site but the problem was still there…so, but now i had to set pagination and 90 to displayed post… to “simulate” the infinite scroll ..because the client didn’t want to see that problem…
so please let me know if you have plan to try to fix it again and when you get it so i can set again the infinite scroll on the page.
thank you very much!

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Ascend problem
Hello,
I bought membership and am trying to use Ascend theme. Have many questions, first: It seems that when I choose a Google font (Oswald) for the website in Appearance and then save “Custom CSS”, the fonts go back to default. What should I do?
I’d like to build menus as in this site I have previously made: *Login to see link – would this be possible in Ascend? How to access the items in the 2 menus? Or maybe I should just forget about the archive file looking backgrounds in the menus. This is where I am trying out the new site: *Login to see link
Detail question: 1. How to get the upper menu align left with the page content? Now the menu items are centered. 2. How to hide the vertical little line inbetween the horizontal menu items? 3. How to hide the horizontal line in the beginning of footer items and sidebar items?
Is it advisable to create a child theme if you make so many changes? – I am not yet familiar with child themes, must study that.
Question regarding work with clients: Now that I’m a member, shall I give my Product API Key to the client or just fill it in while building the site and then next year ask for a password and go fill the key in on their site again? What if I cancel my subscription? My guess is the client then is on their own and gets no updates, unless they make a subscription themselves.
Thank you in advance,

March 12, 2019 at 11:28 pm #219575Pinnacle does it that way backward compatibility, but it won’t work if you use page caching on your front page, simply because page caching returns html without doing any quering on the server so the server never finds out what specific content it needs to send out.
This can work but I don’t suggest it, in pinnacle I’m going to make the default way this works not require any querying on the server.
I know I can hide the sliders on the other pages with css, but my impression was that the images would still load and cause the page speed to take a hit, even though they are hidden with css.
Not really correct. Sliders use background images, by simply adding CSS to make the priority background transparent for mobile and hiding no image will be loaded.
If you post a link I would be happy to give you an example css.
By the way if you were loading regular images and hide them using css they wouldn’t load either as long as you are using lazy load on your site.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Mobile version of the Page Title area?
Ben,
I have a site setup with a slider on the home page. And for mobile I am using the themes (Pinnacle is the theme on the site I am describing, the site I am currently building and have the question about is in Ascend) Home Page Mobile settings and for the slider I set that to none.
As far as I can tell this makes it so the slider code and images do not load or even show in the inspector if I am in a mobile view. Is that not the case?
I know I can hide the sliders on the other pages with css, but my impression was that the images would still load and cause the page speed to take a hit, even though they are hidden with css.
