    Hi,

    I’ve been running pingdom speed tests on our Pinnacle based website and it appears that during browser rendering, many image files are being requested and downloaded multiple times from the server, particularly from the homepage carousel. This is slowing the page load time.

    I realise this question may be beyond the scope of the theme but is there a way to stop the multiple requests? Are there other things I can do to speed up the response time of this Pinnacle based site?

    Kind regards,
    Michael

    Hello,

    I’m running into a problem on one of my sites ( Only on a mobile device, when clicking add to cart on the product page (not the shop page), the product is added, the page refreshes, and then the product is removed from the cart seconds later. Not quite sure what is going on, and it’s strange that this is only on mobile. Adding to cart from the shop page works fine though.

    I know this is a third party plugin issue but I’m wondering if it has anything do to with the theme. I have disabled many plugins and tested to no avail. If you have any ideas that would be great!

    Thanks,
    Brady

    Hi,
    i added the label and it works fine.
    Then i tried to insert a link to the Policy page too and the label is not showing again. Is there a way i can insert a link in this label, or do i have to put a separate link outside the shortcode?

    My shortcode:
    [kad_testimonial_form name_label="NAME" testimonial_label="IHRE BEWERTUNG" location_label="ORT" position_label="GGF UNTERNEHMEN" link_label="INTERNETPRÄSENZ" submit_label="ABSENDEN" success_message="VIELEN DANK ! Nach der Spam-Prüfung erscheint Ihre Nachricht auf dieser Seite" location="true" position="true" link="true" email="[email protected]" consent_checkbox=”true” consent_label=" Ja, ich habe die <a href="https://xlservices.de/datenschutz/">DATENSCHUTZERKLÄRUNG</a> zur Kenntnis genommen und bin damit einverstanden, dass die von mir angegebenen Daten elektronisch erhoben und gespeichert werden. Meine Daten werden dabei nur streng zweckgebunden zur Bearbeitung und Beantwortung meiner Anfrage genutzt." ]

    Thank you

    Hi there again.

    What is the importance of the theme css:
    img{max-width:100%;height:auto;vertical-align:middle;border:0;-ms-interpolation-mode:bicubic}

    Unfortunately when I have an image that is also a link, it creates an active hotlink area across 100% of the window or div holding the image. I can think of ways to defeat this (enclose in div) but was wondering where the 100% is really needed.

    Example — hover over the left and right of the small icon for the “back cover” in this page.

    Thank you!
    Amy

    Thanks for the reminder, Ben.
    I have created 404 page and it’s now running.

    There are lots of sizes that are created based on what you are doing. For example virtue has settings to show your featured image. In that you can set the width and height manually based on what you want and then wordpress will create that image.

    The reason the file size of those two would be irrelevant is because of compression. If you use good compression on your files that will make more difference then anything else including using tiny dimensions.

    I think I’ve got it. Thanks for explaining. So I set up imagify. This worked nice except for all ‘custom’ or ‘uncommon’ sizes. See the result here: https://www.webpagetest.org/performance_optimization.php?test=180615_9X_a38bb6be771886ca833811f71cfb83b1&run=2#compress_images

    That is, all ‘custom sizes’ like 260x260px or 734×440 sizes are not optimized by Imagify. These are the startpage carousel and startpage image menu images, hence I guess the custom thumbnail sizes. My imagify settings looks like this:
    https://imgur.com/a/17bahxK

    Not sure this is a virtue issue or if I should rather report to imagify? Maybe there’s also a filter or something to ‘add’ custom image sizes so imagify knows about them…

    Hi Ben and Kadence Team,

    as you noticed, some of the European members are concerned about the GDPR and it is great that you already solved Google Fonts in such an elegant way.
    The second big concern is the Google Map. Maybe you already have something in mind, that would be great. I found two main approaches on this matter:

    1. a consent on the landing page that contains a checkbox for the google maps – this is not considered enough by specialized lawyers unless the cookie/google maps consent plugin also blocks the scripts for google maps (and other plugins) – You would get a lot of love if you would make such a plugin for the Kadence community.

    2. not loading the google map unless checking a consent on the map (place) itself. This is agreed as good solution for Google maps but leaves the visitor to look at a grey space before he gives consent. Maybe you could implement this solution (consent box) to the Google Widget with an added extra: the map hidden (like in accordion maybe or just display:none) until the consent is given.

    It would be great if you have time to look into this problem and maybe come up with a solution.
    Not at last, we trust you more then all the other developers combined, that offer some solutions for GDPR compliance, at least this is what i have learned in the 5 years as a Kadence user/member.

    Best regards,
    B.Anders

    In your theme options > custom css please add this as a test:

    .home .kad-testimonial-carousel {
        max-height: 160px;
        overflow: hidden;
    }

    I think because you have testimonial carousel above it the parallax is getting aligned then the carousel is loading the that changes the entire height of hte page.

    This plugin bp-post-from-anywhere is causing an error on your page. Thats break the javascript and causing the tabs to not work.

    On another note, using a custom 404 page is great but I strongly suggest you specify in your custom 404 page that is a 404 page and not the page they were trying to get to. Right now you have nothing in that custom contact that tells the user they are on a 404 page.

    I see the issue, you just need to close your comment, like this:
    /*change background colour of home carousel */

    Yes, the page title will be fixed in an update but you can use CSS as a temp fix for now.

    not at all, Kevin. My settings are on 1) static page 2) homepage listed from pages – definitely not from a category page.

    It seems that you’re setting that page as your home page in Settings> Reading, which overrides it being a category page.

    You can use this email to create a login, though you could also just make one up, it isn’t necessary to use a specific email address to create a login.

    Hi,

    1. I used the CSS but it didn’t change anything. It’s the first carousel on my home page.

    2. Shouldn’t the header automatically stop at the sidebar? I don’t want to fool around with CSS if this is a bug…. It never did that before.

    Thanks!

    1. Amy’s CSS should work for this. If not, let me know and I can give you something different.

    2. Here’s some CSS that will limit the width of the header on your home page:

    .home .page-header {
        max-width: 800px;
    }

    #193096

    Hi,
    i’m having this strange Parallax on one image (middle of page) where the top of the image appears under the image – and is the only one out of the 3.
    I changed images from small to big, the one in the snapshot is my last try and is 3840×2160.
    I also commented out all my custom CSS, but still the same, so i have no idea where to look further.
    I appreciate your input on this.

    Hey Nic,
    This css should work for you:

    .page-id-19994 .kt_post_category.kt-post-cats, .page-id-19994 .post-grid-footer-meta.kt_color_gray {
        display: none;
    }

    Hope it helps!

    Hi!
    I just need to increase the font size of my bullet points on a landing page. I used this html to change the font colour and size. The colour works, but the size doesn’t. What’s wrong?

    <ul>
    <span style="color: #000169; font-size: 20px;"><li>Boosts immunity and energy levels</li>
    <li>Supports optimum weight</li>
    <li>Suitable for Vegans</li>
    <li>Organic, made in the UK</li>
    <li>Contains a minimum of 20 servings</li></span>
    </ul>

    Thank you for your answer in advance.
