Hi,
After follow the migration steps, in order to change my website’s domain name I’m falling in problems with the theme. I have made a copy of all files, a dump of my MySQL database that was imported later and replaced the old domain with the new one in all places.
But when browsing the home of the new website, it seems totally different.
Could you provide me a safe migration procedure to avoid changes in theme after changing my website’s domain name?
Thanks in advance,
AlejandroIn forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I like the way the “Blog” template looks when I set it up as my home page. However, I would like to be able to add some content before and/or after the blog posts.I have tried a number of things, including using a Static Page and adding the latest posts; using Page builder, using shortcodes, and more. However, it always formats differently no matter what I’ve tried. I can’t seem to get the nice one column, centered, with an image the way it is on the blog page. I can provide a link to my site in progress if that would be helpful.
I am using a child of Virtue Premium. I have made no coding or css changes.
Thank you.

May 24, 2016 at 7:51 pm #96426Hello Ben,
Last 3 days, i observed that Site is loading very slow and every site builder too. I read old forum and deactivated all Plugin and enabled only 3 plugin. Site was loading fast. But again it became too slow. I have contacted host too. They suggested to reduce plugin / check for theme / removal of cache..
Could you please help me!! it is really annoying to work with site.

Hey! A lot of perfectly fine websites will show errors when they go through testers such as that one. While they are surely good tools in a lot of circumstances, I wouldn’t worry too much if you consistently get a few errors when you use those kinds of sites.
I can’t say for sure what exactly those results mean, but I would venture to say that you don’t have anything to worry about.
For instance, try running amazon through the tester.
https://validator.w3.org/nu/?doc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2F
You’ll see that while this is an extremely optimized and successful site, it still shows up as having a lot of errors.

May 24, 2016 at 3:12 pm #96383ok, So I’m out of guessing? I can’t recreate unless I use Edge browser then I see the security error but only on your site not on the demo not anywhere else. It’s not related to the content of the page because you can have an empty page and still see the security error. It’s not related to plugins because you can deactivate them all.
I can only guess that there is something in the htaccess file or something in the permissions of the theme folders that is somehow tripping the edge browser but based on the oddness of this I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a random bug in the edge browser itself.
At this point for me to test any further I would need ftp access to the site.

I ran a check on my website and a few errors came up. To start with I am getting an error for each of the portfolio classes that I use for the filter. “branded” is associated with the “Branded Content” filter. *Login to see link
I did the test using the *Login to see link tool
Error: Bad value branded for attribute rel on element a: The string branded is not a registered keyword.
From line 989, column 351; to line 989, column 408

May 24, 2016 at 12:45 pm #96342Looks like your urls don’t make any sense (leading to 404 not found) for where the files should be. What type of hosting are you on? it’s like wp_content isn’t properly defined on your site which would mean your wordpress install is not traditional.
I would suggest asking your host to check the wp-content-url definition and see why thats off.

May 24, 2016 at 12:26 pm #96333CSS can’t pull in content.
If you have the right conditional in terms of “extra” work it’s just a matter of pasting that code once.
Can you post a temp login to your site I would be happy to take a look at this.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Cloning edit post screen into CPT
Thanks Ben! I think I’ll try your code on a blank site to see how I get on, but I think I’ve understood everything above.
I thought I had set up the CPT as a true Posts format object – I can certainly do permalinks/archives etc. Not sure what else I can change. Here are the post types Pods offer.
I did actually start with pure posts and just selected the category I needed. And did an ‘if / else’ in the single-post template to treat the two categories differently. But the arrangement I have with the client was for her to handle the ‘News’ and me to handle the ‘Stories’. But she is paranoid about messing something up so I was going to downgrade her account and remove the ‘choices’ (including choosing a category) and unnecessary admin menus. So putting it all on different menus made sense.
Best wishes, Colin
