I did figure out what’s happening. This has to do with how google loads fonts and optimizes their files. Without all the details for how this works… Basically, I can create a workaround that will download the font subsets and show it but it will not be nearly as fast. For example, the font file size will go from 54kb to 450kb. Google loads this through an api that figures out the best file for the browser viewing your site. And because newer browsers support unicode-range they deliver different font files to extend a font and load only whats needed. This isn’t possible in a local setup. So unless you have a different reason then performance for trying to load locally I strongly suggest loading through google for performance when you need subsets.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your quick reply. I couldn’t find anything under those options. I don’t think it’s the call to action…but I’m unsure.
If you click the virtue premium demo on your site and scroll down, you’ll see the snow topped hills that i’m referring to. I think they appear in all demo styles (but I picked style 4 with the slider above the menu).
Thanks

Hey,
Sounds like you’re referring to the call to action widget that’s being added to the home page content. You can edit this by going to the edit screen for your home page and deleting the page builder row. Or you can disable the home page content in Theme Options> Home Layout.
If either of those options do not work, can you please post a link so that I can see which demo you’ve added to your site?

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I’ve used one of the virtue premium templates to save a bit of time, but i’m a bit lost with changing one of the images in the template. As you scroll down the home page there’s a picture of some snow topped hills that scrolls behind the text panels. I’ve looked at pretty much every editable aspect of the site and can’t find where it’s using the image from.
Ultimately I want to change it, but can’t!
Does anyone know where in the menus I can find the option to change this image?
Many thanks
NeilIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: portfolio page question
I have been very happy with your theme. I was creating portfolio pages using your Virtue Gallery for current images, then to the right site origin editor for customer testimonials and below was a before/after images
I have recently had to create a new portfolio item and cannot seem to format it to the previous style. I can’t seem to use the Virtue in the block section (which is now the Guttenberg issue) Can you advise?
I have also seemed to have removed the right side bar where my featured image could be set/removed. I would like to include links to show you the before and after of each portfolio, but can’t see what to turn on the privacy settings as don’t want links to be viewed
Thanks for any help you can give me

September 5, 2018 at 8:38 am #200654OK. Thanks. One more question. I have almost finished building another site with Ascend and would like to sort of copy that for this new site – but I’ve forgotten if I imported a demo design or just used the default design. Here’s a screen shot (screen shot 1), showing the home page header (light grey background) and vertical menu. I did nothing the the home page header – it was already this light grey colour, which I like and would like to repeat. Could you tell me how to get that. The current home page header I have is a very dark grey which I don’t like and am not sure how I got it (see screen shot 2). In other words I’d like to switch from screen shot 2 design to screen shot 1 design.

Thanks,

September 4, 2018 at 11:44 am #200612Hey,
In general, Ascend is set up for this but most of hte compliant stuff would have to do with your content. It’s more like with ascend you can build a compliant site or you can not it comes down to what you do with the theme. If there is something specific you’re wanting the theme to do based on your content let me know.Ben

September 4, 2018 at 9:38 am #200600Hi Kevin,
Thanks for your response. I have now reset the website. One thing i’m not clear about is the Kadence slider and the demo imports. Are they necessary? Can I not just use the basic lay out setting and build up my site from there via page builder? I think that’s what I did withy last site based on Ascend. Could you clarify that for me please?
Thanks,
PaulIn forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Complete redesign of website
Hello Paul,
1. If you’re switching themes and using the importer, you may run into some issues. The importer is designed for a fresh wordpress install. You would have to manually change all of the content, and there may be some unexpected consequences when using the importer on a site that already has content. Since you’ll have to go through and manually fix everything when you run the importer, I suggest just resetting your site and rebuilding it with page builder.
2. The problem likely has to do with the site’s current content. Try running the importer on a site that has no content and it should work. Are you getting any error messages after attempting to import?
3. You can remove all of your WordPress site’s content with this plugin:

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Complete redesign of website
September 4, 2018 at 6:46 am #200576Hello,
I wish to completely redesign a website which has been badly designed by someone else. The original theme was Virtue premium and now I want to redesign it via Ascend with a vertical menu.
I have installed and activated Ascend premium and accessed the kadence importer but am concerned about overriding all the present content. On going to tools > kadence importer the following notice comes up:
(*Using this importer will override all your theme options settings.
*This importer is designed for new/empty sites with no content.
*If you want to reset your site after testing out the demo content you can use this plugin:WordPress Reset)
I want to redesign it with the Ascend demo that has a vertical menu, but at the moment there is another design which has completely changed the site but maintained the content. I would like that to happen but with the demo that has the vertical menu. I tried to import that demo, with some trepidation as to how it might overall the content, but it failed to import.
Another option is to start from scratch (I have saved all the content and have a back up of the site – using Duplicator plug in) and build it up via page builder and pasting the saved content.
Questions:
1) Which option would you suggest?
2) What might be the problem with importing the Ascend demo with the vertical menu?
2) If I chose to erase it all, how would I do that?Thank you,
