Is Page Builder by Siteorigin showing in your list of plugins at all?
I would suggest deactivating your plugins to test if any are conflicting. Let me know if there’s no change.

Hi All,

After updating to the to the most recent Virtue premium theme our homepage no longer displays correctly. It also seems that the Site Origin page builder plugin has been deactivated but it is no longer listed in my plugins. I’ve tried to re-install page builder but the installation will not happen as the file still exists, somewhere. Also the portfolio image slider, and events pages are not being displayed. This is a website for the fire department that I work for and I only have a novice level of understanding or WordPress. We’re at a bit of loss and would appreciate any help.

Is there a way in Ascend to move the header above the topbar via CSS? I want to do this for the mobile version of the site only. The mobile options in Ascend allow me to layout the header and topbar nicely, but the client would like to see them reversed. If there’s a way to easily do this via CSS it might be the simple solution. The site is HERE.

I copied by ftp the whole english website content to the right directory on my host server . /fr
I have bugs .

Hey for every image uploaded there may be as many as 15 or 20 different versions of that image. They are created based on your settings and if you change settings different sizes would be created. This is all to make your images as optimized as possible when loading the site. Those resized versions are all attached to the parent image.

Shortpixel will just resize all your images if you tell it to. This means all the resized versions as well. The benefit to removing images that aren’t used is they will not go against your image account balance in shortpixel.

with Pingdom, i sometimes get a perfect 100/100 Score or something like 86/100 and the message that i must combine CSS, Scripts, etc.. How on earth can this be?

I’ve noticed this recently I think it has to do with whether they are testing http/2 or not since combining is actually a negative in http/2

I don’t think this is google response time. The demo for the video slider is using a video that is much larger than yours and it loads fine and no loading issues on google mobile test. Something on your site or server is causing the google bot to not be able to access some of your scripts.

I suppose it could be with your ssl and something not connected right there but I can’t see anything on this end. I would ask your host if they have a tool that would allow them to check that.

You should be getting updates in your WordPress dashboard. Is this not the case for you? Sometimes server installations will block updates. You should contact your host.
You can also download the latest version from here and manually update: https://www.kadencewp.com/my-account/my-api-downloads/
some server installations block updates. Contact your host. Also ask if they are using a multisite.

Hey,
You can display posts anywhere on your site using a shortcode like this: [blog_posts type="grid" orderby="date" items="4" cat="photos"] Just paste that into any text editor anywhere on your site.

Hey,

The only way that I’m aware of to delete unused images would be to go to your media area in the admin, and manually select the files you’re not using.

If that’s not something you want to do, then you can optimize your images and leave them in the media library. I’m pretty sure that shortpixel will only optimize images that are loaded on your site.

I took over development of a site that uses Pinnacle Premium and now I’m struggling to get the portfolio look like the customer wants it to.

The design requested by the customer is shown here: *Login to see link

This item got 4 pictures assign and I would like to get to the rather classical design of big picture with a few small thumbnails below (see sample pic), but none of the portfolio options give me that.

Any suggestion how to achieve that?
If required, I’ll modify the theme, but I still hope I just overlooked a simpler solution…
Or was Pinnacle just the wrong choice and one of your other themes would have that feature built-in?

Another difficulty are the navigation arrows on the single portfolio page. They don’t seem to work (they are not linking anywhere), even though I set the portfolio navigation option to “all portfolios”. And I got enough of them 🙂

I am about to use short pixel to optimize my images but the website has been around for many years and I suspect there are many unused images. I thought it might make sense to delete the unused images/unused sizes of images before optimizing them – it seems silly to optimize images that don’t need to be there at all. I have looked at quite a few plugins but I haven’t found one that makes me feel confident enough to use. For every product image uploaded there are 5 other size variations created and I am guessing they are required? Do you have any suggestions? Or should I not worry and just optimize everything with short pixel?

Hi Hannah!

Sorry for the late reply – I just returned from vacation. No it is stranger than a plugin or theme needing update. This is a multi-site setup. The pairing is working on one of my sub-sites and not on several of the others. I have copied the code for each sub-site directly from this thread. Below are examples:

onerestore.com/ocala (working)
onerestore.com/gainesville (not working)

I have been over the theme settings on each of the sites to see any differences and haven’t been able to find any discrepancies. Is there any other setting that could be interfering with this?

ok so i tried the following:

1. robots.txt did not exist, i tested without and then with a file that allows all, didn’t make any difference

2. Loading time: you are probably right, but i tested with and without video (2MB) and still get resources that are not loading.

Besides, Pingdom loads in ~600ms…

Without the video, the start page is almost empty, just a few words and 2-3 links. Even the background is CSS gradient, no image so i can’t figure out what is causing this. Also I DON’T GET THE SAME ERRORS every time.

I have another site i’m just starting on the same server. I installed Ascend and made a start page with image background and a comming soon text. It loads great and without errors in Google mobile test. The only major difference is that i didn’t enable a SSL certificate for the new site jet.

Is the response time that Google mobile test wants, maybe ridiculously small?

2. I’m not sure of any way to do this outside of a child theme. are you currently using one on your site?

Hi!

I have a recent issue with my website http://www.bluespoint.net. When loading, the top bar, showing our phone number, is visible – but only until the page has finished loading. Then it’s concealed by the menu bar.

I’m not sure how to fix this. Please help if you can.
