Ben, I use Siteground for hosting and they have it where you can simply upgrade your PHP Config with a click; however when I attempt to do, I get this error message about Kadence Slider (and also one other plugin, the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle) that they are incompatible and then I’m not able to upgrade the php version.
Is this valid for Kadence Slider? See below image on dropbox…

Nope it doesn’t work with either Visual Editor or the Site Origin editor. I’ve just updated the Site Origin page builder plugin but it still doesn’t work.

It totally depends on your site’s needs. You should remove any plugins that you don’t use, especially older or unsupported plugins. Testing them by deactivating as directed above will help pinpoint any trouble plugins.
Can you also post a link so I can see your site?

The trouble is I don’t know which plugins are now defunct as I have had your theme for a long time and think things changed last year some time. Which plugins are absolutely necessary? i.e site origin? etc. which are outdated and needing removal? thanks

Hello Justine,
The first thing to do here is test your plugins by deactivating one by one, seeing if the issue goes away when a certain plugin is OFF.
Be sure to clear your cache each time. I don’t believe that this is an issue with Virtue or any of our plugins, since this isn’t being reported by anyone else or isn’t happening on any of our test sites.
Let me know if you find a plugin issue.

My site is Skunkapetreestands.com. We’ve just implemented an email lead capturing plugin called Mailchimp for WP. There is also an add-on feature for this plugin that allows us to create a topbar to collect these email. The problem is that this plugin just overlays on top of our header and blocks page navigation. So, I then activated the Ascend top bar to act as a spacer. It seems to work great from Chrome, but when testing on FireFox and mobile, the Ascend top bar is not showing up, so the email top bar is still covering the header/navigation on those browsers. Any thoughts on how I can either get this plugin to appear on top of the header or how I can get the Ascend top bar to work with FireFox and mobile?
In forum: Virtue ThemeI have a very niche website with low visitor numbers yet my host has just contacted me to say they are suspending my account due to over usage which is crashing their servers. Apparently this is something to do with a malfunctioning theme or conflicts with plugins. I have until Friday to sort this otherwise they will take my site offline. I have students subscribed all over the world who need to constantly access their tutorials. Can anyone login to my host and identify where this error is coming from please?

Yeah that is what I expected your issue was but you said you uploaded directly from the download on this site. That download is the correct file so you should have downloaded version 2.2.7 and uploaded that. Since that upload is telling you that you still need to update I was looking for a login so I could see why.I have an update coming out tomorrow to fix the file but that doesn’t explain why when you directly download from here and upload it’s asking you to update. So that was all I was trying to figure out.
If a login isn’t an option let me know after the theme update tomorrow if you still have an issue.

So we are clear, if you make a change then go into your super cache settings and clear your cache you still don’t see the changes on your site?Who is your host they may be adding their own cache.

Ben, I would prefer to solve the problem a different way.
Here’s another piece to the puzzle. I just tried to install Kadence Slider on another site and I received the exact same error. Could the problem be in the update code? When running the update process for Kadence Slider to update it from 2.2.5 to 2.2.7, the Updating Plugin page displays this text:
Downloading update from https://kernl-file-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/19-03-2018/06-21-06/kadence-slider/kadence-slider.zip…
The date of 19-03-2018 is older than I would expect. Could one of the update parameters be downloading an out-of-date file?
In forum: Virtue ThemeI added a couple of locations to this site and copied the above code directly from here as suggested. The Ocala site has been pairing images properly for some time – 2 icons per row on mobile. And the Gainesville site is putting the menu images one to each line. Additionally, it seems that on android phones there is a gap in the menu images – it displays the first 2 images on first line, then there is a missing picture on the left with the 3rd picture on the right, and then the rest displaying normally. iphones seem to display properly. Any advice? Thanks.
