In forum: Virtue Theme
Hi
I was long due on updates and finally got around to it. I made a copy of current site and run updates there.
1. first I updated all plugins except woocommerce – everything was OK
2. then I updated woocommerce (2.6.14 -> 3.4.2) – I got an issue with category pages not showing content at all. Problem was in solution from here: *Login to see link
– I commented this part out in functions.php and content is shown now, but Page title is not where it should be.
– And I’m getting warning about two outdated templates (virtue_premium_child/woocommerce/emails/customer-invoice.php and virtue_premium_child/product-searchform.php)
3. then I did update of Virtue theme (3.9.8 -> 4.6.1) – everything is OK
4. then I did update od WordPress (4.7.10 -> 4.9.6) – everything is OKSo now I’m left with this two issues, that I don’t know how to fix. Can you please help me.
Should I do updates in different order on my live site?
This is live site: *Login to see link
and this is test site: *Login to see linkThank you in advance

June 8, 2018 at 10:13 pm #192593Here’s a link to two pictures. One is an example of the row separator using a Home Page Header. The other is an example without a header, but using the Page Builder row with a picture widget.
https://postimg.cc/gallery/2fmvl4p16/
And here is a link to Timely’s Calendar widget for WordPress: https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/
It does have a shortcut, but it says to use it on external sites only. Apparently there could be issues using it on my own site???? Here’s the message it provides:
“Attention!
These widgets are designed to be embedded in external sites only and may cause conflicts if used within the same WordPress site.
Use Appearance > Widgets to add event widgets to your WordPress site as you would any other widget, or use shortcodes to embed the full calendar.”When I follow these directions and add the widget to a Page Builder row, it doesn’t show up.
I know Timely is not part of Ascend, or Kadence related, so I greatly appreciate any suggestions you have.

June 8, 2018 at 3:03 pm #192571Hey,
I looking at the code in this plugin and it seems that the added tr is intentional, certainly, the only way to remove it from the plugin is through the plugins files. Nothing in the theme or our plugins are adding it.Also if you simply temporarily select woocommerce default in our woo builder plugin or deactivate the plugin and look at a product page on your stage site the same layout still occurs. (making me wonder why you ever assumed it was our template plugin to being with).
Finally, on your non-stage site, you are not using the latest version of the swatches plugin. So it seems you updated that swatches plugin on your stage site and it broke the layout you wanted.
So I don’t know if you have gone to the plugin developer or not but it’s something that they should help you with since they added the extra rows.

In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Video on post doesn’t show
I am probably missing something here. But I did a test post with a video attached. I uploaded the video. It’s not a youtube or vimeo url since I uploaded to the site. Put the url in the video post field. But it doesn’t show up. Thanks for your help.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Possible add “Benefits” in this theme?
Yes, I’ll probably use portfolio. In the other site (I send you links) I use “Benefits” directory for information not very important, that’s why I’d like to have the same possibilities in Virtue, but i’ll try with portfolio.
Here benefits with the title “ACTUALITAT, BREUS”:

In forum: Virtue ThemeJune 8, 2018 at 9:00 am #192536Hello
I have been working on a sticky header for a new site – I have managed to use the “Basic With Shrink” and have a centred logo with centred navigation bar below. This works exactly as I would like it to but I just need to add some space below the navigation area when the header shrinks.
Would you be able to point me as to where i might be able to add some space – assuming either below the header or in the top of the main content area.
Thanks

1. Yes, the transparency is .7. You can read more about rgba here: https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/func_rgba.asp
2. It was done using page builder. Create a row at the top of your page, set the row layout to fullwidth stretched and give it a background color. Then you can set the row separator. Next, you can add a visual editor widget to give it text.
3. When your videos are ready you can simply select your slider from Theme Options > Home Page Header.
4. For Wanderlust the homepage is set to a static page (settings > reading). Then you can go into your homepage and create a row in page builder with 3 columns and add an ascend image menu item widget to each column. Then you can create a new row and add a split content widget. This calendar plugin seems to work well: https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-organiser/
The recent posts are added to a three column row, each column with a kadence recent post widget and a specific category selected.
Then the call to action is done by creating a row in page builder and setting the row layout to full width stretched. Add a background image and set the row separator. Then you can add a call to action widget into the row.5. There is definitely a learning curve with all of this. But you’ll get there! And we are happy to help along the way. Your theme options control the overall look of your site, and page builder is used to edit individual pages and posts.

June 7, 2018 at 10:46 am #192456Thanks for the quick reply, Hannah!
“rgba(255,255,255,.7)” : Am I correct in assuming that this is the rgba code for white with a .7 transparency?
Sorry for the confusion about which builder I am using. I am using Page Builder. I can’t afford to lose the data I have on the site now, so I’ll have to build from here in Page Builder.
How did you guys create this header with the double center triangle row separator: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium/? Can you walk me through accomplishing that?
Eventually, I will want to replace my header image with a series of videos, like in your Video Portfolio template: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium-5/. Yes, I have Kadence Slider Pro installed. Does this change how we build the header for a static image now? Or is this simply an overhaul project for later when I have the videos ready?
Below my image header with row separator, I’d like to build out the Wanderlust page like your template. I’d like to have the three Image Menu items with centered text followed by my calendar of events where your split column, wanderlust definition is. (If you guys have a recommendation for a quality, free calendar, I’d be open to suggestions.) I really like the way you have blog posts set up with a feature article and recent posts smaller. Can you help me recreate that, too? And then the call to action with row separator pointing to the footer.
I would appreciate any help you can give for setting this up. I understand that the versatility and power comes from using widgets and Page Builder, but it sure would be nice to be able to fully recreate the templates directly from Theme Options. I just don’t know enough about web development to know when you are using a Theme Options element, Page Builder (and shutting off Theme Options), CSS code, or some other plugin. It’s kinda like buying a Lego set only to discover that there are no step-by-step directions and some of the pieces used for the picture on the box are from a different set! LOL!
Thanks again for your help.
