    Hey Martin,
    This isn’t an option within the portfolio full settings, but you can use the home widget area then from Appearance > Widgets add a text widget to the home widget area with a shortcode like this: [portfolio_types orderby=date showexcerpt=false columns=4 items=8 height=200 childof=0 childcategories=false]
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Sybella,
    1. I believe that is pulling from your home slider. Go to Theme Options > Home Slider and select None beside Choose a Home Image Slider.

    2. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    .home div#content {
        margin-top: -50px;
    }

    3. You can use css like this to pull the widget down:

    @media (min-width: 992px) {
    .widget-1.widget-first.header-widget-area-header.widget_black_studio_tinymce {
        margin-top: 55px;
    }
    }

    Is that what you mean?

    4. Can you be more specific as to what you’re wanting? Are you wanting to add a custom menu widget? How exactly does it mess up the look? Have you tried using the footer menu (enabled in Appearance > Menus)?

    So you’re just wanting an image in your header, correct? The premium theme has a logo layout style with a widget area. In Theme Options > Main Settings set the Logo Layout to the fourth option. Then in Appearance > Widgets you can add an image widget or a visual editor widget to your header widget area.
    Does this work for you?

    Hello,

    The site is almost 100% back to normal but still could not figure out how to make the logo not shrink smaller than the menu in mobile mode. I don’t have sticky header on. Header is set to standard. I have Wide Site Layout Style and full logo layout selected. I dont know if Topbar Settings affect the logo at all: Use Topbar is on Enable topbar mobile menu layout is off. Use Topbar Icon Menu is on. Enable widget area in right of Topbar and Topbar Layout Switch are on.

    3. I’m still not really following where excluding from the menu comes in?

    The BUY NOW is the first item in the “kad-topbar-right”. It is wraped in the mobile menu.

    Also your images don’t account for mobile? Thats tablet size?

    They acocunt for both.

    You can use the topbar widget area to add a language selector.

    I would not like to do that, as I tried 2hours to css style that. How it is now is perfect. Except that I would like to have the topbar menu from the kad-topbar-left to kad-topbar-right. Please advice with a function for the function.php. I really would appriciate that

    In terms of adding a large “buy now” you would need to code that into the header using a hook, but it’s a lot more complicated then that because you would need to get the css right for where your placing everything

    Would it be possible to add a css item to the menu item that say “do not wrap me into the mobile menu”?

    Best regards,
    Hendrik

    An easy way to accomplish this would be to use a Top Bar.

    I did it on my site by going into Theme Options> Top Bar Settings and enabling the top bar there.

    If you’re wanting to only display the language switcher, then you can do so by turning everything off except the top bar widget area.

    Then, in Appearance> Widgets, you’ll place the “Language Switcher” widget in the top bar area.

    You may need some CSS to get it lined up correctly, but this is what I would do.

    You’ll also probably want to adjust the topbar color to match that of your header in Theme Options> Advanced Settings.

    Does this work for you?

    So really I suggest using the split content widget. I think that would be better for the layout.

    But now you can at least target that area for mobile and change the min height:

    @media (max-width: 768px){
        #pg-1032-0 .panel-grid-cell .kt-simple-box {
        min-height:300px !important;
        }
    }

    Hi Kadence Team!

    I need a help again.
    Any chance to set just one column widget for footer area?

    Thanks in advance

    1. OK, I’m simply suggesting what you have in your head isn’t possible. And thats not because of slider limitation but because of request. I would love to see you try and create what you expect to happen in an image editor for larger screens that would really help I think.

    2. ok, you can set the color of your menu items when the header is transparent in the theme options but the point of transparent header is that it’s transparent so there isn’t a built in option to make transparent not transparent. Although the css I sent would certainly do that for you.

    3. Adding through a widget wouldn’t change anything.

    4. What are you setting as the width of your slider? That is important if your making the width huge (there really isn’t much reason for larger then 1100px) that would make the editing area huge.

    Options below the slider editor would only show when a layer is selected by clicking on it.

    Hi Ben,

    1- I just find a way to get what I had in my brain according to slider limitation. I read the explanation article you indicated and I understand what you mean for the background size, so I will try to have the most important part of the picture in the slide center and make a picture bigger like the size you have in the demo full width.

    2- I will try the CSS rule you sent me because it can solve the problem in my other website where the changing of slide colour made menu unreadable.
    I suppose to find it among theme options but not.

    3- Maybe another solution to have the same picture in any screen is having a fix header and below add a revslider/kadence slider pro widget using the home widget area.

    Take note that Kadence slider Pro has some UI issues in my 15″ screen. It doesn’t resize properly and I have to reduce browser to 75% to have full UI. When add an image the image settings don’t appear unless you make a double click on the image then magically appear all settings below the picture. Opening Live Preview there’s no way to close it or coming back using the ESC button for instance, the only way I succeeded was shrinking the browser size more and then click on the black overlay. Maybe it’s my computer, quien sabe?

    Thanks a lot for all.

    Hey,
    You would have to use page content or widget area, then you can use pagebuilder to set up the columns and add “visual editor” widgets into each. In the visual editor widget you can click “virtue shortcodes” and add an icon box.

    We are in the process of developing a Virtue Premium site at and have set the header as the fourth option with a logo on the left and a widget area on the right, into which we are displaying a Cyclone slider.

    We are very happy with the theme and the layout in both desktop (logo left) and cell phone (logo center) displays, but are experiencing a layout problem in a tablet-width display in that the logo stays aligned left (rather than aligning to the center) at the point where the primary menu changes to the mobile menu and the slideshow moves below the logo. Similarly the mobile menu button is aligned left at this same width for a tablet-width display (rather than aligning right).

    The problem arises whether or not we use the child theme we have in place and whether we retain or remove all our custom CSS.

    Is there a modification that we can make to the media CSS or some other remedy we could try?

    You need to go into Appearance> Widgets to assign widgets to your top bar. This is where you’ll add widgets for most areas of your site. Just find the widgets you want, and assign them to the desired area.

    If you don’t like the default search, you can add a “search” widget in the topbar that will display with the full search box by default.

    Give that a try and let me know if it works for you.

    Hey Ben

    Thanks Ben

    Installed as suggested (though the plug-in has been superseded by Turbo Widgets) Used the shortcode in area suggested. The Output is a thin dark line with the shortcode showing up on the extreme left.

    NZWholesale.Com

    Shortcode Used
    [widgets_on_pages id=”Header Search”]

    I encased the shortcode in “..” as shown in the output and the search box shows up along with a dark background. Search box is extreme left. Remember the container on my site has been widened.

    As this is a widget search, it puts the header above the search box, which currently I have removed but does need the Box Name alongside it – Product Search. Box would need to widened and centered as well.

    Version: 3.6.9

    Hey,

    1. Your issue is that your adding a fullwidth stretched to a page that has a sidebar. Page builder can’t do that just make sure to use the “fullwidth” page template. see here: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/fullwidth-page-template/

    2. Because you are using a shrinking header the widget area isn’t an option for you. You would need to add an iamge with both your logo and site title that way it could properly shrink as well.

    3. You can also use this css which will bring your items closer together:

    .kad-header-style-three #nav-main ul.sf-menu>li>a {
        padding: 0 10px;
    }

    Hey,
    So one option would be to update to version 3.6.8. Then use this plugin which gives you a shortcode and created a widget area that outputs with that shortcode: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-on-pages/

    Then you can add a search widget to that widget area and output that shortcode into the theme options > main settings. At the bottom there is an after header shortcode input.

    Hi,

    1. I’m not very familiar with siteorigin Hero. It looks like there’s weird code being added from that plugin that is causing this, but I can’t figure out what. The theme developer should have more insight.
    If you’re just trying to add a featured image you can use the feature template. See here- http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/templates/feature/

    2. You could use the header widget area to add a visual editor widget with large text that appears as a title. You can enable the header widget area from Theme Options > Main Settings and add the widget from Appearance > Widgets. Then you would probably have to reposition with some css. I can help you with that if you’d like.

    3. Try adding this to your custom css box in Theme Options > Advanced Settings:

    @media (min-width: 1200px) {
    .col-md-6.kad-header-right {
        width: 60%;
        float: left;
    }
    .col-md-6.clearfix.kad-header-left {
        width: 40%;
    }
    }

    Does that create enough space?

    Appearance > widgets. look in the sidebar widget area that you have assigned to the product.

    I suggest that rather than using the Image widgets, you create a custom gallery for each of those pages.

    All you need to do is go to each one of those pages’ edit screens, hit the “Add Media” button, and find “Create Gallery.”

    Then, you’ll want to select each image that will be a part of this gallery. After you’ve selected your images, click the blue create gallery button, and it will take you to the page where the settings for your gallery will be found.

    You’ll want to add your captions in this area. You will also have options to the right of the page for how your gallery will appear. In your case, you’ll probably want the size to be MEDIUM, Type set to DEFAULT, Show Captions to TRUE, and Masonry to be FALSE.

    Setting the Captions to true will give you the caption appearance on hover like you want.

    Let me know if this helps!
