Add variable product to cart with default attributes direct from homepage

Hi
I display 2 featured products on my homepage which are variable products. I would like customers to be able to add these, with default variations selected, to their cart with one click (as per simple products). Currently the ‘Add to Cart’ button on the featured product changes to ‘Select Options’ when you feature a variable product. Is there a way to change this back to ‘Add to Cart’ (giving customers choice of quick checkout with default options or clicking title to go to single product page where variations can be changed)?
