Adding a recent posts slider to the home page?

Hi…I hope I am not missing something obvious here, but I’m trying to figure out how to add a slider of recent posts to the home page, and after an hour of poking around the UI and the forums here, I am not seeing anything obvious. Can you point me in the right direction?
Love the theme to pieces, by the way.
