Adjust width of sub-menus

In this screenshot, the width of the sub-menu is fairly small. This forces the text of each submenu item to break over 2 lines:
Is there a way to adjust the width of the sub-menu to a specific pixel width?
Is there a way to make the width auto-adjust to the widest submenu text so that no text is forced to wrap?
