Alt Portfolio style

Hi,
I realise there’s another ticket open about this topic but wasn’t sure if I was ok to jump in or not so thought best start a new.
I’ve setup a portfolio page and assigned a Portfolio grid template to it.
I’ve got 2 portfolio items created and outputting on the portfolio page but can’t work out how to show the alt style portfolio, as in the demo: *Login to see link
Have I missed a setting somewhere?
