blog posts aren’t showing up on home page

I’ve created a homepage with Site Origin, the theme is set to have the blog posts to show up, they aren’t. site origin says I need to have a post loop widget or code in the index file, it just gives me an error, when I enter it. Would this be a Word press issue or theme issue? *Login to see link
