Bottom margin inconsistencies

I’m adding row layout blocks. In the editor, I need to give each block a -45 bottom margin in order to get the vertical row separation to match the horizontal cell separation thus:
However, if I preview this in a new tab, here’s what I actually get:
Not sure why this happens. I’m new to Kadence so it may be I’m doing something wrong.
