Can Info Box blocks have links in the description text ?

We tried adding hyperlinks (mailto: and tel:) into the description text of an Info Box and the editor will no longer recognize it correctly (This block contains unexpected or invalid content). Is there a way to do this or do we have to use a different block type (e.g. Split Content block) ?
