Hi Hannah,
How are you?
Recently I’ve undertaken cleaning out the media folder for http://www.johngrahamtours.com which had accumulated over 500 files, many of them loaded at about 500kb apiece. I’m trying to delete large files, replacing them with smaller (100-200kb) sized files. I found that not knowing the size of each individual file was really slowing down my efforts, so I took the advice of some forum writers and implemented a child theme and stuck a bunch of html in the php file in order to show a column of file sizes in the media folder. So far so good.
My question for you is this:
Should I move all of the specialized css and other html from the “Advanced Settings” section in Theme Options > Advanced Settings into this child theme? That way, I don’t lose any of it if there is a major update to the theme, as I understand it.
If you have advice on this, or anything else related to the child theme, please let me know. I did read this entry article: *Login to see link
