Contact Form not sending email

Emails were not being received through the theme contact form so I connected name cheap and they told me this;
“We disabled sending emails from email address on the domain that does not exist on the server or uses third-party email service at the moment. We have taken these measures due to mass SPAM sending through forums, guest books, and contact form scripts on our servers.
Please use local email addresses created in cPanel.”
Is this really a better way to set it up?
Or should I do this?
If it is important for you to use third party email providers, I can unblock SMTP port for you.
