Create a new template

Hello,
I am using Virtue theme for a while now and it is a great theme!
I would like to create a new template and add in the theme so when I create a new page I can choose the template.
I have created a child theme and I can create a template but I can not find how to add it in the list of template.
I have tried to add it in the /lib/metaboxes/virtue-metabox-pages.php list but it does not work.
Is it possible to do this kind of thing or is it only possible to modify an existing template?
