Custom CSS empty…

Dear all,
I’ve been working to include a quiz page on our site scentandspice.nl . After testing several plugins I decided to settle with WP Quiz, after trying several others. Removing these other plugins, suddenly the Custom CSS disappeared and the site layout messed up.
I restored a site backup (one day old)) and everything was working normal again. As soon as I open and save the Custom CSS box though, the CSS disappears completely (and can only be restored with the backup), although currently no quiz plugin is active.
I suppose the issue has to do with the max input var settings (*Login to see link but I’m not sure how to proceed.
