Drop-down menus don’t work on large touchscreen devices, so what do we do?

Hi, all.
I love the Kadence theme! It’s the best I’ve used, but my site has an issue: the drop-down menu, which is usually triggered by hovering over the menu with a mouse, doesn’t work on large touchscreen devices for the obvious reason that people are touching the screen instead of using a mouse to hover over the menu. On mobile, there’s no issue, because the mobile menu kicks in and doesn’t have a drop-down menu. The issue only occurs on large touchscreen devices, such as large tablets, where the desktop menu is visible instead of the mobile menu.
How do you guys get around this issue? Do you just always make sure the mobile menu is used, even on desktop?
