Icon instead of title or in addition to title on portfolio grid block

Hello – I hope everyone is having a productive week!
I am trying to recreate an existing grid that uses a plugin called essential grids using Kadence Pro Portfolio Grid block.
Instead of showing the title on hover, I would just like to show an icon. Is this possible? I have tried using the before pseudo element in css but I can’t get it to show only on hover.
Also is there a way to reverse the hover effect so that the title shows all the time and then is replaced by an icon on hover?
