Image crop on product pages

When I view a specific product on that product’s page the image cuts off the top and bottom to 1:1 aspect ratio(this would be all products, not specific products). If I click to make it bigger it displays the entire image. How can I make it not crop on the individual product page?
And if I wanted to crop images on a page displaying all products for tags and categories is there a way to crop those? Thanks a lot!
