Kadence Image Processing for Portfolio Slider

Hi,
I’ve noticed for my portfolio sliders, the Ascend Theme/WordPress creates another version of the image that is displayed in the slider with quite an aggressive compression.
Some of these images have text in them so its easier to see the artifacts on these compressions. Is there a way to control how much compression is automatically done by the theme/wordpress for slider images that aren’t maximised (ie clicked on) in the portfolio?
