Menu UI drag and drop

Hi Ben,
sorry if I write a new topic but maybe someone can benefit too.
I have the need to facilitate the Menu use. If you have a long list of elements it’s very difficult to set new item in correct place because the new element is always added to bottom menu.
Is there a way to drag straight where do you need it from the selection column? Or can be a way to srhink the menu tree to first level?
I mean if I have a menu such as
Video>Norway
>USA
shrink to first level Video at least the menu will be shorter and easier to add new element to level needed.
