No 'read more' link on blog posts

Hi there,
I am getting really confused on a website I have built using Virtue, on the blog section, the summary text is not showing a ‘read more’ link.
Within theme options > blog options > Add “read more” link to custom excerpts? is selected on.
The link is *Login to see link
Any help would be appreciated.
