Preserve IPTC metadata

Hi there,
I´m looking for a way to preserve the IPTC metadata in my uploaded and rendered picture files. Usually they are stripped off after rendering by the standard GD Library. Because Imagick PHP-Modul is installed on my server I tried this plugin: “ImageMagick Engine”. It works fine for the standard WP resolutions. All IPTC data are saved but not for the files generated by Pinnacle for galleries etc.
Is there a workaround for that or is there a way to use Image Magick by default for all image rendering?
